This popped up. Already watched it, but watched again. Such great reminders. You guys compliment each other so well in your teachings. I love Alexi's "hard truths" because I know she's coming from a place of love. We need to hear the tough stuff sometimes. *funny at the end she's like we don't know about pregnancy hormones yet. So cute 🤗. And you walked women through that, too. The feminine have a lot of work. If we do the work, the result is powerful. Blissings and blessings. Bluup!

Brother, I have been calling men forward all my life. I am very happy to talk to you any time about it. Yes there is room for improvement, of course. But men stepping up? Hmmm, As long as we focus on MEN and WOMEN and this dynamic, i.e. the differences, we will not in my opinion make progress. The feminine wants to express? Hmmm. I too have apologised to women on the behalf of men, I think it's very important that as men we realise many women have fear. But as men, we have to know where it comes from. But again, as long as we focus on Men and Women being different, then ..........well we will stay lost. I like watching the path you and your partner are walking. Really interesting. Happy to share my experiences with you any time.

What I think was unearthed with Preston's post was the collective pain of women being emotionally dismissed. It's a sensitive area because many times men have used "she's just on her period" as a way to shut down women emotionally, to tell them that their feelings are invalid or irrational and as men, to avoid admitting their own root emotions in the conflict. When I heard the post I thought "oh my, if my boyfriend /friend wrote this online I would recommend he rephrase..." I can see how a woman could read that post and feel that she was being told to 'admit' that her emotions may not have validity, that her outburst was purely hormonal, and therefore not something that the man should reasonably be expected to hold space for. When of course it's likely that whatever is expressed will be a combination of hormonal factors and underlying thoughts and beliefs which have been brewing for some time and could really benefit from a loving space. In short, I think the post in the way it was phrased made women feel not heard. Also it ties into stereotypes which there are varying levels of truth to. I don't experience mood swings with my periods, although it happened once when I was a young teenager - I was on holiday and I couldn't stop screaming and crying and was in excruciating pain and I almost got taken to hospital haha... It's a mystery what was up with THAT period haha... Back to the topic, I think that some women would have perhaps felt that the declaration of being on their cycle would be a pass for men to see all their emotions during that time through that lens, when the truth may be that they have difficult emotions during that time for other reasons unrelated to menstruation, and it isn't part of some women's realities to be affected by periods at all in this way. Funny how something so seemingly small can unearth so much personal and collective pain!

I disagree with this discourse about women speaking up about their periods. It's no ones business what is going on in me as a human being. Yes I am responsible for what I do say and act, but using a woman's period to say.......hey you need to own your own shit, ........Well you could that without ever referring to a woman's cycle. Men have to take responsibility to. People get triggered by this I think because they feel some blame because of their natural cycle. So if you are not blaming the natural cycle, why are you singling it out. I do agree women should share it, but, really is the point about us owning our own stuff or just about a woman's cycle? Is it about ALL people owning their moods... then keep it on that. Some women, in my experience are NOT actually able to manage the mood swings, or pain. But they that is their experience through my filter.

yes I get that, but....can't Preston as a guy, just say that without highlighting a woman's period? It's clearly a great debate and is highlighting a lot of good reaction, but exactly that point, of blaming the mood on pms...We are not hunters gatherers anymore, we are human beings, all of us, why highlight the differences?
