For those hand shoveling, it worked for us to shovel every 4-6 inches of snow. Set your phone alarms to shovel in increments; it's much less physical stress than shoveling 24 inches at the end.

Wait to shovel? You kidding me? If you wait till tomorrow, good luck shoveling over 1-2 ft of snow. You need to continuously shovel every few hrs.

@Deagle Games: where I live, we typically get 120 inches of snow each winter. When a big storm comes, better to shovel the driveway several times. You want to struggle with deeper snow, have at it.

I remember that...that's when all the news was talking about how we were all going to die in an "Ice Age"....even Time magazine wrote one. It didn't happen, so then they decided to change it to "global warming"...lol

It depends on how much the storm impacts the area economically. A lower population (a couple million) vs 70 million. Yes it's kind of a big deal.

Guess how many of the products you use every day are produced in the midwest. Guess how much of your oil and coal and iron and copper are produced in the midwest. The east coast could slide into the ocean and the midwest would survive. If the midwest disappeared you would starve to death.

Back in the 90’s I was a truck driver and went through the worst snow storm of the century. I drove all the way from Wisconsin to Massachusetts. Grossing 80,000 pounds and being from Minnesota no way I was getting stuck. But I did take the rear end out of my truck.

I went to nyc a month ago, and keep in mind I’ve never touched snow in my life. So the whole time I was there I hoped and hoped that it would snow. Then when I left nyc it literally snowed a couple days later 😭 I was so mad😭

Not enough plow drivers? Did they run away to Florida? What happened to blowers from last year? Did they think winter was canceled? Put police officers behind the wheel - emergency - respond.

Plow truck drivers need a CDL B at least. So putting police in the plow truck isn't safe since police don't get that training 🙄 Also, the shortage of drivers is because of vaccine mandates

Northern Maine--no big deal. -18 windchill, zero degrees, 18" of snow coming. :) We're happy! They never even mention Maine during these storms. The national weather map stops at Boston!

I am amazed that Google can predict weather in my area with few degrees of accuracy Yet horrible blizzard comes as a surprise 😱 and the warnings were not given to the public at least 24 hrs ahead. Airplane tickets were sold. I do not understand it

It’s actually just fine. There was an invention a couple years ago that allows us to store energy, I think the kids are calling it a “battery”. In fact the entire city of Burlington, VT runs its electricity entirely off renewable energy. Has been for years. How about them heat oil and natural gas prices tho eh?
