About the elephant tusks, people often remove the tusks on vintage elephant figures because they were often made of ivory which is illegal to sell now. So in order to be able to resell the figures, they had to remove the ivory.

The law here 🇬🇧 is you can own historic ivory, of course we are referring to Elephant , but cannot sell Ivory, unless a very few exceptions. I believe 🇺🇸 is it has to be over 100 years old with proper documentation.😊

We pulled into a gas station a few years ago, and beside us was a large pick up truck, that same yellow and it was decked out as a TONKA truck. It was actually a Toyota, but instead of Toyota it said TONKA. It was totally cute.

Same here in New Zealand some people don't realise the real value of an item ..some may look vintage but aren't ...let's go to the States organise a thrifting and all sorts trip and have a BALL 😂😂

Savers down here in Orange County, CA just way over priced - employees now in the back looking every item up on eBay and pricing it pretty much what they see in eBay. Sometimes you can get lucky with a find they missed but the competition is crazy with so many people picking these days. Garage sales still the best finds for me and an occasional storage locker pick up.

In case it helps those boots were paddock boots. You can tell because they had a spur rest on the sides. Paddocks boots will have some sort of a bump on the back or sides near the bottom. There are some really good brands besides Ariat so they are worth checking into.

I was that that savers in Dublin in January and found 2 Prada dresses for resale and a purple label Ralph Lauren dark denim that sold for 140.00 I have not posted the dresses yet. Next time I will take a bag of donation to get the additional 20% off

Charity shops and Thrift stores are now just big business. When you think all their stock is gifted to them…? We know they have overheads with rental and heating costs but, really? Over pricing halt’s buying. This is why their dumpsters are full of perfectly good items! Too much stock due to over pricing.

THE SHOPS ARE GREEDY ----> rising prices places like goodwill often out right own their buildings they are TAX EXEMPT in my town several shops have food pantries attached along with help with utilities but in order to GET HELP you must ALMOST GIVE A BLOOD SAMPLE some mandate you go to a church service ot 2 and give your heart to Jesus basically its ABOUT MAKING MONEY they see resellers selling and they wanna jump on the wagon and get their pound of flesh its NOT THE RESELLERS FAULT for rising prices its the shops the chairman of GW makes $2 million GW also takes advantage of a special advantage tht allows them under federal law to NOT PAY min. Wage at times to their employees also alotta shops are staffed by VOLUNTEERS i.e shops make even more money because ppl believe they are helping

@@timmason3022 Yes! The same here in the UK it’s voluntary helpers that work in their stores. Hence I call it big business. Just running costs and rental, the rest is easy money for these outlets, only the top management get big wages, I know.

In NJ we don't get bags either. It's been like that for about 2 or 3 years. At first it was SOOOOO hard to remember to bring bags in stores with me. I still forget once in awhile.

High purse prices in lovely California. Probably makes sense, luxury item. Their processing fees and they know women love their bags (me included). Once had a gift of. Dooney Bourne and than that’s all I’d buy. Valiant try for items🤩😎❣️

Our Value Village in Canada is the same as your Savers. The prices are utterly ridiculous. They get everything donated/dropped off and they are not non-profit. Crazy!!

OMG- I had one of those wooden wall hanging cutting boards with flowers on it. It also had a big wooden fork and spoon that you hang besides it. It was a thing in the 1990’s.

Thrift stores usually remove the tusks from elephant figurines, JIC, (selling ivory is illegal in the US).

my son went to savers in college up in Flagstaff AZ mostly Jackets, coogie hats/sweaters,, I found vintage Lwvis from 1960s sold for $40.00 paid $ 5,, good luck dudes,,

You can barter to a degree too, I have been searching for tea pots for a 1920s themed T party, they have ranged from £3.50 to £8.00, as I need so many I won't pay over £5 , have managed to knock a few to the fiver. They will get them all back at the end unless I can find buyer 😊

We haven't had bags either for years in Nova Scotia Kayla and no plastic straws. We recycle just about everything even our food waste. Love the Cookie Monster. My daughter was obsessed with Ernie playing the tuba in the park. She asked Santa for a tuba for Christmas. He didn't have one so she got a Fisher Price trumpet that you inserted records. lol

My Goodwill stores in Wisconsin have Coach and Donneys priced at $45-$65. We don't have bags available unless you purchase, which doesn't bother me. They will find you a box if you have a dish set or something big like canisters. Love your videos!!

We have multiple savers in a 20 mile circle. Two of them have amazing prices. One is always outrageous prices and not in an area that is as nice as the other two. I think it depends on who is pricing and managing
