I was on a different non-military contract for 4-years in the Green Zone and has some wild stories, from topless embassy girls to getting in high speed chases from Iraqi police.

Some kids never grow up. As for throwing small arms ammo into a fire, it's very low risk. Minus the chamber and barrel, the heaviest item is the projectile, and won't go far. The lighter item is the case, which will fly, but doesn't have much mass. Good, clean fun.

My experience was similar but different. We were running night missions, and obviously during the day. We weren’t allowed to drink but guys still did, we weren’t at the embassy, and when we did go we always got into some sort of trouble. I just remember how wild the parties were at the embassy, which we avoided like the plague. We were also 24/7 so we couldn’t drink or get into as much trouble as back in the day, but we still had some crazy stories. I contracted for IDS and TC and I can say TC sucked so bad. IDS was a hoot though. It was fun while it lasted, but I can say my life is much better on the outside, because contracting was like a cancer. If you don’t leave it you’re stuck in the game till you retire. There were so many older guys who dug holes they couldn’t get out of. I was 24 when I started and 30 when I left and I’m damn glad I left. Good stories, good money, but it’s a very lonely life that makes you attracted to the worst things.

The shit we did overseas 😂😂😂. However, i have ZERO reservations about any of it, especially since the liberal government we have, biden and his garbage shenanigans...are far worse

@@northsky5629 Navy, got out worked for NSA. Then Raytheon. Actually just did another Raytheon contract a couple years ago to McMurdo Antarctica. Loved it

These types of stories need to have context, or they just seem crazy and immature. But in the context of the stress and pressure of the situation I hope they become less so. I want to maintain my respect for those that have risked their lives to protect us.
