They have robbed Africa and now think they can help us, I know their help is not genuine and they are looking for ways to steal from us again.

@@berndueberschaer7766 small example, American companies instead of going to honest Africans to mine the resource of the African country in question, go out of their way to find corrupt men who will make it so that the company will be able to mine the product at the cheapest price, and the Africans of the country will never get to see a penny of this money. Another one would be Europeans coming and buying gold or precious diamonds for basically nothing, and they turn around and sell it 10000% more then what they paid for. You would be amazed the price Europeans can get away with when buying these minerals, there is no care what so ever for the African people. Tell me, why is it the Western government always happen to support brutal governments in Africa that are corrupt ? small is example is the doe government of Liberia, who was a brutal dictator backed by the Americans, another examples would be Chadian leader, Hissene Habre, United States provided critical military support to his insurgency and then to his government, even as it committed widespread and systematic human rights violations. Go and research, these are leaders that all existed, this is a minuscule list of the dictators backed by the US and things the US or Europeans has done to the Africans and looting they have done. Why is it so hard to admit for some that we have been looting the African continent for a long time ? Why is it so hard ? Any research will show how the United states has helped installed many brutal dictators who then sell the country resources for almost nothing and let the Americans come with their big war machine.

I love all the scenes of Malawi and its people in this documentary. I get tired though of the constant pro-western agenda and neo-colonial bs. Yes, Africa has problems and you can talk about them. But it doesn't mean you need to colonize them again and treat them like kids.

Its a bigger difference between African countries then it is for European countries. So when you for example are in Malawi, dont ask them about the whole African continent all the time, ask them about Malawi.. ;) (You can place the whole USA in the Sahara desert alone, and then put Europe inside the rest of the African continent, and it will still be a lot extra space in the African continent..)

I think the problem of most African countries are corruption to blame others for stolen the natural resources is not the valid logic ,, even if they had stolen resources what's now you have resources but still the same position nothing changed , public need to ask for their Wrights but they are not able to do so ,

A good documentary but it is disappointing to hear the EU commissioner making derogatory comments about the intelligence of Malawian children as compared to Europeans. I wonder how well European children would get on if they were in a class of 50, with an untrained and barely educated teacher and no books or other learning resources.

It is the fashion these days to complain about what "they" are doing to me/you/us. Everyone around the world, from the richest of the rich to the poorest of the poor, are singing the same tune: "They are out to get us!" "They owe us this, that and the other" "They hurt me!". Of course, a certain degree of resentment, even hardcore hostility, is certainly understandable in many instances and these grievances need to be vented. But it is an outlook that is doomed to fail long-term. True progress comes when people, whether they have been "wronged" or not, realize that they have to be the ones to try to make the changes in their lives that they want to see, like the women making the stoves. The profit margins on the stoves may be low, but the profit margins on bathing in victimhood and waiting for the legacy of colonialism to magically disappear are infinitely lower. So am I suggesting that the people who have been wronged are responsible for picking up the pieces and moving forward anyway? Yes. That is exactly what I am suggesting. Because THAT is an approach and a mentality that helps. It about self-determination. And, no, this is not some "white man's idea". It is in fact precisely the kind of thing that the greatest black leaders talked about in the United States in the 1960s: self-empowerment! By contrast, a victim mentality will NEVER help. It is IMPOSSIBLE, in fact, for a victim mentality to help. It never has helped and it never will. Never. Never. Never. (Peace to all peoples everywhere!)
