Time to revisit the A-10. Been enjoying the Hornet and trying to refresh with all the A/G weapons, but the A-10 is why I got into DCS (after leaving BMS behind in 2017) but it was quite daunting to learn. Now that I have a lot of Hornet seat time, I think the A-10 systems will be a bit easier to learn.

I’m about to head back into the A-10. It was my first module, but I’ve been heavy into warbirds for a bit (Spitfire and Dora). I do love the A-10 so much though.

roll the heading bug or course need to the runway heading, makes it a ton easy to know where you are in relation to the runway heading

Nice job TP, glad you are updating tutorials for the A-20ll. I think that it is a good idea to refresh content. The Warthog is a great flying aircraft with no real bad tenacities. Once talked a with friend a while back and asked, “If we were in a scenario where we needed people to fly a plane for an attack with no experience, which would you pick?” Without hesitation, he said the A-10 because he figured he might be to handle flying it.

The sensor “flow” can be a bit fiddly compared to other aircraft, but it’s a great platform.

You make it look so easy. I'm working on learning the AH-64 D and for me it ain't so easy peesy lol. But watching your video's inspires me to success I hope. Great stuff.

Yeah, it's time to get back into the A-10 while awaiting the Mudhen. I always like to put the runway heading into the HSI as an extra reference.

Printing off a “cheat sheet” of all the controls may help to remember all the bindings initially

Very nice landing, But if my memory serves me correctly, the USAF wants to the bank in a turn to about 30 degrees when in the pattern FOR SAFETY. I do not participate in DCS as I do not have a powerful enough computer yet BUT a friend of mine bought a computer with an AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 3970X and when he checked the cores and threads used in the game he plays and found that only 16 cores & 32 threads where used. the other cores sat idle. Apparently, some programs and games only work on a set number of cores and threads. DO YOU KNOW IF DCS WORLD LIMITS AND NUMBER OF CORES AND THREADS IT CAN OR WILL USE? THANK YOU

@@TacticalPascale THANK YOU. It looks like DCS will use as many cores as possible. I was thinking about using an AMD EPYC 9474F with 48 cores / 96 threads. That will give me a 50 % overhead and PCIe Gen 5 x 16 connectivity.

Irl in the AF in the overhead we are not limited to 30 degrees . We use the g to bleed energy, and the turn helps with that. The purpose of the overhead was to prevent losing jets early in the jet age. Early jets didn't have variable inlets so in the pattern they would often flameout. The overheard was used in case that happened the higher pattern and spreed allowed a spiraling deadstick landing.
