I don’t sail, however Tom is excellent and I would be willing to listen to him talk about the dead bugs on the bumper of a car for 25 minutes

Another useful refresher Tom! It would be great to see some East Coast passage planning using the various routes through and around our many sandbanks (now mostly marked with wind farms, but that’s another story!). Keep up the great work!

Hi Tom, always interesting to follow along in your thoughts. I used Navionic's chart as I watched during episode. It's always a bit tricky with tides and some times these marinas entries have marginal drafts. On my Navionic's chart, there is short 0.7m depth 50m-passage, just at the entry to channel Sparks marina, which makes it a bit scary with a 2m draft boat. I think I need to refresh all this tidal stuff. Anyway thanks for this episode.

I was wondering if the almanacs change much over the recent years as they are published yearly!?

As there is not reply I take it they are pretty much the same. Maybe worth buying older version cheaper.

Yes, they do change and that's why they are published yearly.

Out of interest how much difference in price is marine diesel? How much would a displacement yacht like the 30 you owned Tom use per mile/hour? I get motor boats are expensive to run and I personally feel if you can sail it do so but certain conditions coming into port or anchorage somewhere like the Yealm for some might be safer to motor from the mouth

Not sure, but the HighWater Portsmouth is actually 18:13 (3.6) not 16:13 (3.6) as noted on paper. Otherwise thank you so much for this winderful video!
