Android recommends using parcelable instead of serializable. Other thing is you can make MOVIE_OBJECT as const Val in companion object instead of just val.

instead of serializable i have seen parcelable only so far and used it, that also works, don't know which should be used also if i want to make 2 strings as companion objects then do i have to write companion object{ //object creation } twice or can i declare both the strings inside one companion object{} only ?

You should do it inside one companion object only. Companion object is basically a singleton that is tied to the outer class. There can be only one companion object inside a class. You can not have multiple companion objects inside a class.
