Best of luck to you all, I did my bit for 12 years, made me who i am today, I'm very grateful that youngsters still want to volunteer, we should all be thankful for this, thank you too in advance for the service you are about to give. Per Ardua.

Why does the Junior RSM drop his tone on the executive word of command? It should be a short, sharp higher-pitched delivery- not as he has done.

Why did the officers march on with the soldiers and the RSM is in charge of the parade. In my day the Sqns / Coys were marched by the SSM's and the RSM dresses the parade. He then handed over to the CO and he then gave the command for officers to take posts.

It's the worst drill fir front line troops no wonder the uk forces are weak trident test the missile fell into the sea a flop the new carriers and 45s give nothing but trouble at best a Dads army disgraceful.😢😮

@@thecurlew7403 They are Junior Soldiers (Passing Out) "graduating" into Adult service with their chosen regiments. Personally, I think our drill ( at the Junior Leaders Battalion RAOC, we all trained as one corps back then) was considerably better.

@@mickjones1883There are young soldiers there who will be serving in combat arms, parachute regt, Guards, The Rifles, Royal Artillery, were represented there ,among other regts and Corps.

even the junior RSM is in need of more drill lessons one officer was out of step marching alongside the platoon still didnt correct himself i could go on and on in my time we had 12 weeks to make them soldiers and their drill was excellent

The RSM is in step he's just using his other arm as it is holding his pacing stick. and you mean Warrant officer not junior RSM there's no such rank as that. But, I cannot disagree that standards and Ethos are slipping thanks to a rise in socialist/communistic Rhetoric this country's Veterans are heavily bleeding from the shame of it.

yes there is such a rank. In boys service or as this where one of the cadets is doing RSM job known as Junior RSM or somthing similar depending on unit. He is out of step that’s clear. His drill is poor but that’s not his fault. I respect all of them. Standards have dropped

@@licec1234 Yes im wrong there just never had this in my training or its just so long ago it slipped my memory. I must have been looking at a different time of the video as you as to the marching fault. I know when i passed out the drum was actuallly quite hard to keep time to as it echoed around the square and could throw people off lol

what is happening to our junior soldiers regarding drill loads out of step, why the beret wearing when dressed in their no2`s and the blue beret chap of the AAC has dreadlocks god help us if this lot ever have to go to war, i know there has been budget cuts to the forces but it certainly looks like there has been standard cuts also and yes i was in the army 2423****

Everyone says their time was better /harder but I've got to agree the drill was sharper in the 80s. Even the Guards don't look the same. I watched the "Royal Regiment of Scotland " at Edinburgh Castle a few years back & it was rubbish compared to what I saw in '88 when I was at the castle with the RA firing a salute. The Gordon Highlanders were at the castle & were immaculate. The guys I saw later were not anything like the Gordon's 😮

In American terminology "passing out" means going unconscious from sickness, injury or drunkenness. The preferred expression is "graduating" or 'graduated".

This is a graduation. It’s called a pass/passing out parade. Also passing out means going unconscious here in the uk too 👍👍

@@mickjones1883 They have had over a year of training already. As Junior Leaders we had between 2 to 3 years depending on your age at joining.

@@mickjones1883 Mate they used to say that Junior leaders would be promoted faster after their "schooling" I never saw this myself as most adult recruits had more maturity . Some in my intake at Woolwich in 85 were middle 20s.

@Angry_117 Yes people were more mature then, today the younger Generation are just soft as my first 💩 Mobile phones, play station, well fed. Trans-diversity , Homosexuality & Lesbian soldiers. God knows what else inbetween

@@mickjones1883 Did junior service in mid 60s drill was up to 💩hot standard as most of the permanent staff started their careers in the time of national service and commanded great respect from the junior soldiers.
