Chris Noel was a civilian employee of the Armed Forces Vietnam Network. Previously, she was an actress who appeared in a number of beach pictures plus other movies and TV shows that featured her comely appearance. But she put her life on the line by going to Vietnam and visiting the soldiers. She was shot down twice in helicopters while in Vietnam. She had only started as a DJ for the soldiers in Vietnam a short while before she did this episode of "Password" She did not do the morning show that eventually Adrian Kronauer became famous for in the movie "Good Morning Vietnam". Among those DJ's who succeeded Kronauer was Pat Sajak. Chris was 25 years old when she appeared on Password this week in Match 1967. She appeared in front of the camera until the late 1980's. About 10-15 years ago, she worked on some television shows with props as part of the Art Department. With her good looks, her sweet disposition and her charms stroking the egos of accomplished actors, she was on her way to stardom. Then she made a visit to a VA Hospital. When she saw the difference their appearance made, it made her want to do something more for our military personnel. She landed the DJ job. And while she usually recorded her shows in Los Angeles, she made frequent visits to the troops in Vietnam. It essentially brought her on screen career to a screeching halt. The studios didn't want to tie themselves to an actress who might return one day in a body bag. She may have forsaken stardom but to many Vietnam vets, she was a star and they will remember her the rest of their lives. And she has made a career out of helping others the rest of her life. Even at age 70 she looked great although she admits to having age and combat zone related health issues. By 1989, Captain Angel was a full bird (colonel) and involved in the investigation of the death of Lance Corporal Jason Rother at 29 Palms. This was an infamous tragedy that is used in USMC training on accountability and responsibility.

Wow, that was a heartbreaking read. Dropped in the Mojave desert during training, Lance Corporal Rother was 'forgotten' by his Lieutenant. It wasn't until 40 hours later anyone reported him missing, and only then because his weapon was unaccounted for. LCpl Rother hiked *17 miles* in the Mojave before dying. He was a mere 2 miles away from his base at that point.

Does anyone know why the openings were so edited for this armed forces week? Not the typical intro.

These openings were edited because I believe they are from a syndicated re-air of the color episodes of Password that aired from 1968-'69 and anything related to the original CBS airings had to be edited out.

How sexist is this.....having her strut for the cameras

How stupid is this, labeling everything as sexism. Sexist means stereotyping or discriminating on the basis of sex. I didn't see her being stereotyped or discriminated against. They asked her to show the miniskirt she was wearing and she didn't mind doing so.

Not really sexist for a woman who is hired and is popular mainly for her physical beauty. She could have been an accountant for example, but chose to be an entertainer.

Roger Smith wasn't wearing a miniskirt or any other clothing that was especially interesting. If I was on a quiz show and the host complimented my appearance, I'd show it off in a heartbeat. Now that I'm in my sixties, a compliment like that would be music to my ears.
