I had a teacher who was in Germany during the cold War and she told us all about how different the citizens of East Germany were compared to their soviet rule. We were told in great detail about how much people suffered and how many could barley afford food and how Germans only wanted to be together again and how the destruction of the wall was an effort on both side to reunite Germany.

10:04 Fun fact: The revolution started as a solidarity strike for the Poles, who got smashed by the Soviets as well a few days before it. The marching started at the Bem statue, who was a great Polish general who helped the Hungarians in 1848/49. Also, the during the demonstration, there were sentences like: "Egyenlőség, Szabadság! Lengyel magyar barátság!" (Equality, Freedom! Polish-Hungarian friendship) And "Bem apó és Kossuth népe, együtt megyünk kéz a kézbe" (Bem father's and Kossuth's nation. We stand together hand-in-hand)

Fun fact: yugoslavia untill 1953 was considered a enemy of eastern Block because of it intependent spirit and its own way of socialism and accually was a good traiding and military partner with the west untill stalin died and relations stabilised Ummm i was wondering if they maiby can react to yugoslavia and tito in the future 😅
