In the first part, you will learn about the Past Participle as well as using the past participle with the present perfect tense.
There are 3 forms for verbs in English: 1) The base form like - to eat. 2) The past simple form like - ate. 3) The past participle like - eaten.
The past participle is sometimes referred to as Verb 3.
The past participle is used in different tenses but for this video you will learn how to use the past participle with the present perfect like: I have eaten. You will also learn about keywords to use with the present perfect tense (like since, for, ever, never, many times, yet, already) and keywords that you don't usually use (like yesterday, five minutes ago, last year). The reason we don't use these keywords is because the past participle is used to talk about an action that happened in the past but it doesn't matter when like - I have eaten lunch already. Words like yesterday are used with the past simple tense like - I ate pizza yesterday. The past simple tells us about an action in the past and it tells us when.
There are 10 common irregular verbs and you will learn the base form (Verb1) of each verb, as well as the past simple (Verb 2) form, and the past participle (Verb 3). For each verb, you will be given the base form and you will be asked to guess the past simple form. When the past simple form is given, you will be asked to guess the past participle. You will also be able to try to use the past participle in a sentence with the present perfect tense. Each example has beautiful video clips that makes the learning fun and easy.
For teachers, we recommend pausing this video to allow students to guess the answers. We try to make the videos as interactive and engaging as we can.

Is past Participle and Present perfect same?

@@user-py8on1xn6l No, the past participle and the present perfect are not the same thing. The past participle is a verb form (ex. Verb 1, Verb 2, Verb 3) where the past participle is the Verb 3 form (like: eat, ate, eaten). Eaten is the past participle or the Verb 3 form. The Present Perfect tense is a verb tense that uses the past participle. The present perfect = subject + have/has + Past Participle(Verb 3). Hope this helps.
