Blessings of comfort to your family. My Dad also loved this him and it comforted him during his battle with cancer. He also passed just last May 27th. God hears our humble cry.

This song moves me every time I hear it . Let me lay some facts on you about this hymn. Francis J. Crosby wrote the lyrics to this hymn in 1868. It wasn't set to music until 1870 by William H. Doane. According to history Miss. Crosby would go on to write between 5,500 to 9,000 hymns. She was born in 1820 and at the age of 6 weeks old she was declared legally blind. She would later in life get married. He was also blind. The Lord would call her home in 1915 at the age of 94. And now you know.

My sisters and I sang this at our mother's bedside as she was crossing over. We were touching her, holding her hands, stroking her arm, wiping her face. We knew every verse of the song because mother raised us in the church. We must all do what we can to encourage young parents to take their children to church regularly, raise them in the church. Life isn't easy. You will need what you get from God's church to make it through the storms of life.

I'm a preacher but today I have seen the hand of God delivering my 2yr old daughter from a very intense 2 operation at the same time . I prayed and waited for God to deliver my daughter from pain and agony but I'm here listening to this songs and thanking God for his faithfulness and keeping his promises 🙏. 😭 I love this hymn! Crazy thing is as a child I didn’t like hymns bc I thought they were boring. Now as an adult, I totally understand why the old saints would sing this hymn and others like it. Sometimes you just need an old school hymn to help you through. I’ve been through some tough storms in my life battling sickle cell anemia. Now these are the words that I stand on. @@robbierob833 Thank you, Dear Brother! Your concern touched my heart! She passed in 2021. To say we were close is an understatement. I leaned on her heavily. I was the baby and she sure did baby me! I used to tell people if Mom died before me, just to shoot me and bury my carcass on top of her casket. She was my strength. I didn't think I could ever live without her, but the LORD showed me HE was my strength after she was gone. I'll pray for you that He will give you that same strength! Huge hugs! So sorry for your loss!

@@robbierob833 One of the hardest things for me beside the fact she's not here anymore was that I couldn't fix it. I kept trying to find solutions for her pain and how to get her help eating- nothing seemed to help- we thought it was the chemo but her cancer had spread. Even after she passed I beat myself up even though I know I did all I could.

I love this song. I heard Yummy sing this song while Fantasia was listening. As she was singing, she said, "He knows where we're at baby".I took that for me. I may not be where i should be in Jesus. I go astray at times, and i feel bad when that happens, but, He still comes by to see about me at those times.God is good !
