What Robert Morris did was abhorrent, but the fact that her parents allowed this to be swept under the rug was worse. Robert Morris is not sorry for what he did to her, he's sorry that he got caught. Base on that phone call he never acknowledged or apologize for the hurt and pain he cause her. You can see the narcissistic in him when she talk about what she lose he start talking about what he lose. What he need to and don't understand is that everything he went through was due to his action as an adult that he had full control over. Everything she went through and is still dealing with is due to his actions that she had no control over he cause the situation she did not.

This is why I don't trust ANYONE in "ministry." The assistant pastor of the church I attended had an affair with my now ex-wife for 5 years. I was busy working full-time and going to school while helping her to go through medical school. That kept me so busy I didn't notice anything. But when I started questioning their relationship they both started a heavy dose of gaslighting me. And when I stopped taking the psychological medication for bipolar disorder...they told me I was bipolar...she quickly divorced me. I lost everything, my children, I was left homeless and was kicked out of the church. No one helped me. The whole affair became public in the church about a year after the divorce. Even the music minister was involved helping to set up their hotel rendezvous. Everyone rallied around the assistant pastor's wife and began the process of "restoring" him. But no one came to support or help me in any way. Not even so much as a "we're sorry." I had lost everything. I have two children who don't know the truth and will not talk to me even after 25 years. This is why I will never trust someone who is in ministry again...especially after their performance with the covid debacle. Preachers were all cowards and ran, using Romans 13 for a smokescreen for their cowardice. I am done with man made American "Christianity." I long to fellowship with believers who are under persecution in China, Burma and India.

Had she not recently told publicly it would have continued to be swept under the rug. From the age of 19 I believe I heard in an interview, Cindy and her family have on countless times gone to Morris, other pastors and elders and spoke about the truth of what happened to her. This because these churches were bringing Morris in as a guest speaker, etc, and none of them did anything to bring this truth to light. There are "many" along the way that should have brought this sin/crime into the light, but they didn't. Can you put an amount of money of 44 years of enduring what happened to her and witnessing a man that for all intensive purposes seems to be basking in the limelight of being a Godly man? 2 million if she even gets that is a small price to pay imho. Repentance should look like Morris taking responsibility for his actions of abusing a 12 yr old child and making monetary restoration to her for his crime; being that he is not able to be charged criminally.

My mom shot him she lost her nursing license because of that he went to Florida prison 10 years. But it ruined my mom my life my two older sisters lives. We became a mess. My mom hated her own daughter because of what happened. She made her life a living hell for sleeping with her husband. It was hell. By 15. My mom let her leave home married some sailor man. At 15!!!! Just to get rid of her!!! My sis and I things were not any better if we even talked to a guy my mom accused of of sleeping with him. My sis left at 16. I ran away till state intervention. The physical abuse I couldn’t handle. My mom was a mess. It ruined us as a family. I went to live in children’s home. I was better off and you know that was bad but. Now I made it. Alone. Have 3 great sons two graduated from Purdue. One about to retire Air Force. And I adopted my niece then 3 year old daughter who now is 24. I made it through all the chaos. But this story just hit so close to home I didn’t talk to my mom for I don’t know how many years 30-40 I’m 69 now I never let her know my kids my kids don’t know all this never wanted them to see this part of life. And this whole situation shows what you recently said Corey about ministers being restored to ministry is wrong. In a recent video, you claimed that pastors with grievous sins can be restored to ministry. Whilst misusing the verses by Paul about the qualifications of leaders and elders. Scripture is clear. Certain sins that bring discredit to non believers disqualify men from serving as leaders, pastors and elders for life. And not only this, this Robert Morris situation shows another aspect. That when men have certain grievous sins, they can't be ever trusted if they have fully repented. You don't know if these particular serious sins can resurface later. The Bible is clear. Certain sins disqualify for life. And you were wrong in that video Corey.

@@smartchristians Corey, with all due respect. When Paul says that leaders and elders are to have a good reputation with outside and above reproach, that clearly implies that some sins disqualify for life. A former paediphile can never be a leader in the church. There are sins that are common in all of us that no one ever expects a pastor never to have committed. If you've gotten drunk, taken illicit drugs, lost your temper, lied, stolen etc, none of these disqualify as "above reproach", because everyone has committed some of these. But if you're a convicted rapist, domestic violence abuser etc, you never should be a leader. The fact that this Morris scandal has resurfaced decades later is proof of the wisdom and veracity of the scriptures teaching on this matter.

My comment is about my own sin and how grateful I am that I have God's grace and mercy and that when I am judged at my time, because of the work of Jesus my sins are covered into eternity. There are so many different opinions about this situation, and how it should be dealt with which is interesting because we are all one body. But that goes to so many differences we have within the body regarding what God says in His Word. I'm just dealing with me. You judge in whichever way you want.

If this is such a horrible act and has affected your life so negatively, why would you take it to the public for millions to see? It’s emotionally devastating to live with, and yet the best course of action was to take it to the public after wanting $2 million and not getting it. What she should have said was money won't make this right, Im not interested in money. I want a public apology. It was over 40 years ago and if he didn't do this to anyone else, then I would say move on.

This is problem with sexual abuse. No one knows whether he did it to anyone else. Secondly, it is always assumed that a child will outgrow the trauma only to have it rise later in life in some form or relationship. Why should this woman overlook her trauma or move on? Some people can not move on because the damage is done and etched. Perhaps, the Reverend Morris's brand of Christianity is really not Christ's brand. What she saying is I am living my truth and it is living in . . . .; the Reverend's truth, who knows?

@@petefults5984, I hope you’re not victim blaming here (‘she kept sneaking into his room’) She was 12 years old when he first assaulted her. Let that sink in - 12 years old. As a pedophile, he groomed her, and most likely threatened her in a myriad of ways should she divulge the abuse. He was apparently a trusted friend of her parents and ‘a man of God.’ She was 12… There’s only one guilty party here: Morris. To even insinuate that the victim voluntarily subjected herself to this ongoing abuse is very misguided.

Assuming that she went into his room? Logically speaking he was married and the couple stayed at Cindy’s family’s house. To me that suggests RM went to Cindy and seduced her because he’s a child molester who committed a criminal offense. Blaming the victim is not healthy. I hope that you can learn from this exposure to see and understand. This way of thinking that a victim is to blame is why it took years for Cindy to come forward and when she did she was shut down by many church leaders. It’s been a long journey and there will be more that will come to light. I only hope that you’re ready to receive the truth and become part of the solution and not hide behind corruption.

Based on your post, you sound like one of those who find it hard to accept Robert is a child molester who attempted to hide his sins for decades. You then upped the ante by blaming a 12 year old instead of a man. The power differential is huge between the two. He could simply asked her to come to him at a certain time. You’re disgusting.

First : Robert Didn't lie like he is accused of. If you look up the definition of young lady it's defined as girl. Second :he did repent and took two years off to get his heart straight. We know he repented because the definition of repentance is to turn away and never do it again. After 35 years we have proof. Thirdly. The real issue isn't with Robert. While he sin was extremely bad it was no worse than King David's sin and God forgave him The real heartbreak is that Christians are refusing to forgive Robert like God has. Fourth Cindy is not a girl anymore now she is 50 years old and suddenly this looks more like blackmail than reparations because if she hasn't dealt with it by now the money won't make any difference. I will agree those around Robert did not counsel him well in how to handle it. Both then and now. If originally all she wanted was $50,000 ( only what I have heard) in blackmail then he should have given it to her. Now she will get millions.

You said RM didn't lie, do you think the motives of his heart were godly when he said all of this? It's actually what he didn't say and it is his own words that are judging him now. This is one of the most misused scripture in the Bible. I’m willing to bet that those who use that scripture to excuse sins are the ones who are always ready to condemn non-believers. Here’s a scripture that addresses both issues: 1st Corinthians 5:12 “What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside”. Did you catch that? We absolutely MUST judge each other’s actions. On the other hand, outsiders do in their private lives is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. I’m a Christian btw.

Repentance is, or should be, between you and your Lord. Who knows if this has haunted him over the yrs.? To show repentance is to go and sin no more. Has there been any other young ladies come forth? Why did she wait so long to broadcast this? Who knows what suffering another goes through? Who can say and why are so many ready and willing to judge others? No one but the two involved and God will know all the facts and until we do maybe judgement should be in the Lord's hands. Is forgiveness no longer found, or practiced? Again let those with no sin be the judge. If one has to be totally blameless, sin free, whatever, then no one is qualified. We have all sinned and fallen short. Dirt will keep coming out on others, Should we judge another because ours hasn't been revealed yet? If God can talk through a jackass, He can speak through anyone. Besides aren't we told to trust no man, or woman. Our trust should be in the Bible, or the Word of God. Want a word from God, go read it.

You REALLY want Morris to pay for his crime. Repentence simply means not doing it again. In Matt 21:28, the son who says the wrong thing but does the right thing is commended. If he regrets what he did and he has not abused anyone since. He has repented. I have no daughter, maybe that's why. But then again, must I experience something to comment on it?
