In tribute to Pat Farmer. who retired on August 2, 2018, after working on both David Letterman's and Stephen Colbert's Late Shows for the last 25 years.
And in loving tribute to Kenny Sheehan, who passed away on November 20, 2020.

IIRC I sent in for a transcript of _Pat and Kenny Read Oprah Transcripts_ once and never got one. They never announced the winner of "I want a ride in Al Norwood's New Car," which I entered, either.

It would have been awesome if one time, after Dave introduced the bit Pat would say something like "Um, Dave? Kenny's not here." Dave: Well we spent all that time to set up and nobody told me? Pat: Um, well I do have someone else who can fill in if it's OK. Dave: What do you think Paul? Paul: You buy the premise, you buy the bit. I say go ahead. Dave: Paul says to go ahead. I'm not sure but Paul says to do it. I wash my hands of the whole matter. Pat: _[to someone on the other side of the door]_ Dave says it's OK. _[The real Oprah comes out] [presumably, cheers and applause]_ Pat as Oprah: Woo-hoo. Woo-hoo. I'd like to introduce my next guest, you all know him, welcome Jay Leno. Oprah as Kenny as Jay: Thank you Oprah. _[Pat and Oprah as Kenny do that awkward bow and leave]_

I think Dave always referred to Oprah having a beef with him or the show. If that was a real thing, I wonder if these bits were the cause or contributed to it, her feeling he was mocking her.

She felt very uncomfortable during their interview on Late Night back in '89; that was the main reason. Also, I think there had been a joke or two about her weight in the nineties that rubbed her the wrong way.

I love this. I love Dave. I was born in Indianapolis in 1971, so I've been watching Dave live on T.V. since his very first job as a local news weatherman. All that to say no disrespect, but PLEASE edit this so you just have one clip of Dave explaining the premise, and then just get to the "meat" of this sketch: Kenny and Pat reading the transcripts. Literally watching Dave doing the exact same lead-in, and that godawful theme song a hundred times during a two-hour video makes a this compilation almost impossible to watch.
