Haden was always so young and trim looking. Hard to believe he's gone. One of the greatest bassists / musicians of our time, and a genuine idealist even if I didn't share his politics.

He had been suffering from effects of post-polio syndrome. What a insane loss on this earth.

I got to see, for the first time, Charlie Haden perform with Pat live in Ventura around 1989. I have been a fan ever since! I will appreciate you through your beautiful music making as long as I live!

Charlie, eres enorme, eres un titán, un héroe, un luchador. Te vamos a extrañar, mucho. Pero aquí está tu música y tu genialidad. Gracias por tan maravillosos momentos que tuviste a bien obsequiarnos.

Pat's sound is so gorgeous in this! it's so cool that they also mic'd his guitar up close to get some acoustic sound as well

I was wondering about that. In this video he seems to use to lighter picks. (white...not the usual Dunlop 96mm in fushia)

Always loved Charlie Haden's tone. He was always really solid under everything. Seems like his style and technique let the bass resonate to its full potential.

The record that Charlie Haden did in 2014 and 2015 with Keith Jarrett was so emotional and lyrical, His solo on track called 'i'm gonna laugh you right out of mylife' where he play duet with Keith Jarrett on album called 'Jasmine' were so good, I really do miss his quiet fierce inner-fiery passion. RIP

The album 'Last dance' by these two monsters is one of the best things I have ever heard. Their "Where can I go without you" is unbelievably tender and touching...

I am quite new to knowing and appreciating the genius of Charlie Haden, but I'd be geniunely intrigued to know what he was reading on those score to play that blues.

If it were anyone else besides Charlie Haden playing that bass solo, I have to wonder if the reaction would be as enthusiastic.

+Nelson Montana sometimes it`s better to keep your ``wondering`to yourself. This is one of those times.

Sorry to break the news to you pal, but you're on the internet and people express thoughts. It's a valid point. Unfortunately it appears you didn't comprehend it.
@dreadnaught909 жыл бұрын
sorry to break the news to you too pal....but your comment is nothing more than peanut galley stuff. And what YOU don't comprehend is that most of the comments here are from people expressing their condolences after Charlie Haden's death. Your ill spirited response was an insult. It shows a nasty, tasteless egotistical attitude on your part. Who are you anyway? Charlie Hayden is a world-wide,well respected nice guy and a gifted bass player. Read my comment again and try to understand why it was written.If you still don't get it...go learn some more about the bass instead of making worthless, ill-informed judgements on KZfaq.
@NelsonMontana12349 жыл бұрын
+dreadnaught90 I was not responding to the condolences and my remark was not meant to denigrate his memory, it was strictly an artistic evaluation on the performance. Maybe Charlie was a great guy and I like some of the stuff he did, but I feel the comment was worthy of consideration to those open minded enough to address it. YOUR comments , toward ME, however are just that of being a dick. Funny how you don't see that, ain't it?
@rodfish46458 жыл бұрын
+Nelson Montana Probably not, but it was a genius solo man... did you hear the rhythms he pulled out of the hat? Pat Metheny looked liked he digged it too - that's quite the certificate of excellence right there! Haden never was much of a show off, and this solo was probably felt by many there, which is something you won't get from your computer...
