C'mon Joel ! I was hoping for a riveting story. You know the kind . . . on such & such a date, on a cold rainy Saturday night, four cowboys were playing cards . . . I was hoping for YOUR rendition of a Sam Peckinpah style saloon story. Well, I was hoping for it.

My great grandmother's Colt 1910 is nickeled with pearl grips. Absolutely beautiful gun, still in mint condition. I love the combination.

If I had to choose a cartridge gun, first option a S&W top break. Second option a Merwin and Hulbert.

Duelist den said it the best. If these guns could talk most of them would say I was purchased shot a few times and then I sat in a sock drawer for the next 100 years. I think that would he the story for most of these 19th century guns specially the ones that are still in good working order safe to fire

As to the question of what I would carry if I could have my pick. If I were in the era of percussion guns I'd want a pair of LeMat Revolvers. If I were in the era of cartridge guns I'd want a pair of Merwin & Hulbert Revolvers like the one you showed. Although I reckon I'd prefer to have seven inch barrels on mine for better accuracy and shot velocity.

What about a cartridge LeMat?
@KageMinowara
@KageMinowara 3 жыл бұрын
@@zacharyrollick6169 As I recall there are a few cartridge LeMats out there but they are way too bulky and unwieldy to be practical. You have to make a really big cylinder in order to fit a cartridge shotgun barrel under the pistol barrel.

@@KageMinowara Yeah, practicality goes way down.

Definitely a brace of Merwin Hulbert .44s. Instead of the colt I would go with the Remington pocket .31. For a rifle the Winchester 1873 in .32WCF.

Video is missing so much information on M&H. no need for the colt gun in this video. Should of taken that time to tell the story of MH.

I am quite disappointed. This is supposed to be an "expert". He repeatedly calls the pistol a Merwin AND Hulbert revolver. There is no AND in the revolvers name. It is a Merwin Hulbert Revolver. It was made by Hopkins and Allen Co. which does have an AND in their title but not in Merwin Hulbert.

@@zacharyrollick6169----- Once again he is supposed to be an expert, and not speaking colloquially. How do you feel about the folks that call a 1911 magazine a clip. Arrrgggg. :-(

@@billenglish9235 I guess we should stop differentiating between the Colt Dragoon models and call them all "Colt Holster Pistols"? Just like Sam Colt?

@@billenglish9235 Honestly, I'm used to that. I'll only argue the point if they insist I'm wrong to call it a magazine.
