How did Elizabeth Hubbard never win an Emmy for playing Lucinda? It's criminal.

ATWT and GL was the best soaps in the mid 80s to mid 90s. Great run for them.

Absolutely adored Kim Zimmer and thought she should win as many Emmys as they would give her but I absolutely agree that Elizabeth Hubbard should have had at least one Emmy win for her incredible portrayal of Lucinda Walsh.

I remember seeing this live when it came on tv. Never heard of Elizabeth Hubbard but when I saw her clip I was awestruck. What a performance. 25 some years later I find it here. Thank you and I know every word she says in this reel. Thank you Ms. HUBBARD.

I love Kim and she deserves all the recognition she's gotten, but I agree: Liz Hubbard was ROBBED that year. She was amazing all season long. (And then some.)

If I am not mistaken (and I very well could be), but I think that Kim won the Emmy for the Reva suicide and Reva/Kyle/Maeve storyline. Now, I am a big fan of Elizabeth Hubbard's, but Kim did deserve this win. If you get a free moment, look up Guiding Light clips from about 12/24/1985 to about May 1986 and you will see why she won. Powerful emotion and probably some of Kim's best work. God Bless KZfaq and everyone who has taken the time to post these classic soap clips!

That was Elizabeth Hubbard's Emmy by right. Despite being a two-time Emmy winner, it's truly a crime that great actress never won for her brilliant creation of Lucinda Walsh on ATWT.

So David Canary is to Kim Zimmer as Anthony Hopkins is for Emma Thompson, at least for her first two Emmys? David Canary was the one who announced her as the winner in 1987 and 1990, just like Anthony Hopkins announced both of Emma Thompson's wins!

@thmspierson You said it! I've watched the emmys for the last 10 years or so and nothing compares to the performances from the 80's. Even though nominated in this role about 10 times, for her to have never won is just unforgiveable -- especially when you see the performers they hand emmys to now a days. Kathryn Hays (Kim) was another power hitter in the 70's and 80's and I don't even think she's ever even been nominated. It took 35 years for them to hand one to Jeanne Cooper (Y&R). ??

I love Kim zimmer and Elizabeth hubbard both. I Kim zimmer did look over at Elizabeth's table when we went up to the stage, so she probably thought she was going to win. Kim zimmer in an past interview talked how she was influenced by Elizabeth hubbard and erika slezak. They also worked together on the doctors.

Of course she won Reva took over the entire show and everyone else's storylines became backburner.

No, she wasn't robbed. Kim Zimmer had a huge story on Guiding Light--namely, recovering from a suicide attempt. The more down-to-eart Reva that we knew in later years was born in the year this Emmy was granted.

Oh you sure did miss out on probably the best of ATWT then-- That's when I started keeping my tapes for the most part and am so happy I have them--just so I can relive them--Comes in good at times like now when Chucky rules and Martha is leaving

@patc2000 I think this was an apology award, for not giving it to Zimmer the year before, when she deserved it for her portrayal of Reva's suicide attempt, its aftermath, and the volatile love affair with Kyle Sampson.

@thmspierson Two years later Elizabeth Hubbard was robbed by Kim Zimmer? Bullshit. Marcy Walker won in 1989 for her role as Eden Capwell on Santa Barbara. Marcy's submission was flat-out better than Hubbard's. One of the actors who talked about voting on the Emmys, as a voter himself, says that you can't go by anything but the submission tape. If Hubbard was losing, it was because her tapes simply weren't good--and remember that those tapes aren't these brief clips, but ten minutes of footage.

This was Liz Hubbard’s year. She was totally robbed by the academy. GL had a horribly written year and Zimmer wasn’t strong at all that year. I know because I watched both.

Kim deserves every award but she has the worst taste in clothes LoL
