It's surprising to see how many videos there are out there that fail to mention the connections on the BACK of the patchbay, and this video is no exception. It would be much more informative if the ENTIRE signal flow was described - From instrument > patchbay > sound card > patchbay > external signal processor... Also the differences between TRS and bantam patchbays... P.S. I didn't watch the whole video.

Great tutorial. I've already started setting up some patch bays at home and most of this I know already. But, when you were explaining half-normal, the idea of having a fall back "dry" signal and the experimental "wet" signal, that gave me a bit of a Eureka moment! Had never thought of it that way. Thank you for this video information. I have a question, you said that in half normal I can record two signal, right? So, this means that I can record two signals within the same channel? I don't need channel one for a dry signal and channel two for the wet one? Thank you

Thank you for the explanation one aspect about connecting leads you didn’t mention im unsure of. I can see you are using leads with two rings is that because they are trs balanced or because they send stereo signals. I’m pretty much never using mics or guitar, just synths, all connections I need are stereo. Is there a difference if you are using stereo signals. Or another way to put it is do you have to double all the connections to send both l&r or are patchbays normally stereo channels? Thank you.

Hey guys how do I setup a reverb unit, sending the signal to vocal booth and at the same recording the dry signal? My vocalist just wants to hear his voice with reverb during recording and on my side I’d only record the dry signal when he is singing into my interface
