We need to spare a thought for the victim who spent five years in prison, her son, and the real father who may not know his sample was taken without his knowledge.

The fact that a person can be imprisoned without a DNA test first being done is beyond my comprehension. Even though a default judgment was put in place, a test should have at least been done before prison. Not to mention, while the person is in prison, how are you going to collect child support. And, a prison record may prevent getting future employment. There needs to be a better system. The mother in the first case needs to be tried for some type of crime. She obviously presented false records in court.

The fact that she said it on TV is evidence of her admitting she committed Fraud. This man needs to be pardonned and have his criminal record wiped clean. She needs to face the consequences of her actions. She obtained fraudulent documentation that named him as the father when he wasn't. She should have her life ruined like she did to his life. The fact that she knew who her sons father was was absolutely despicable. She needs her smug *ss to be put in prison for at least 5 years and also pay financial compensation for the loss of earnings. She needs to lose her freedom and not be able to see her granddaughter for 5 years and see how that feels.

Before placing someone in prison for child support, at that point a DNA test should be mandatory. Taking away someone's freedom and giving them a criminal record is too much just because someone was irresponsible and not showing up to court.

It's sad because we have to consider the year he was initially arrested. They really didn't care about men and their claims against unfaithful/abusive women back then. They were seen as less of a man as well or just generally not believed. At least that's what I witnessed. I just hope Dylan didn't have to grow up watching the man he thought was his father get arrested because of his mother's lie in person.

1st case: I am guessing she had some sort of vendetta againat him for the one night stand. I bet the bio father gave her a sample, and she had it tested, but she didn't put his name on it (there was no name/info on it). I would even hazard a guess that the other guy was told he WASN'T the father. I would think this guy would be able to sue her for falsifying official documents, fraud, perjury, and false imprisonment - if he can get a good lawyer (Better call Saul! Lol!) 5 years in prison for nothing is NO SMALL THING! He deserves to be compensated from her and she deswrves punishment for her fraud!

I actually agree with this, but unfortunately, it's not realistic. Like Judge Lake said herself it's not a matter of double standards its a matter of biology. Women carry the child and usually have to be the only caretaker when they make bad decisions on who they sleep with. That's why the state has to step in and allow innocent men to be defrauded to ensure the state doesn't become overburdened and bankrupt providing assistance to mothers and children. The moral aspect as you stated yeah that would be nice to clean up, but that's on an individual basis and is not likely to happen. What should happen is if the states step up and make mandatory DNA testing legal in all states this will cause a lot of ppl, men and women to make better decisions.

I agree that usually the consequences are more serious for the woman but in this case, to me, they're not. I'd rather have a child than be in prison for 5 years. This is certainly the most extreme case I've seen where the man gets all the negative consequences but it is possible. It's certainly a man-made consequence and not a natural consequence, though.@@ToneRetroGaming

The American legal system is a pure joke. Why could they not have tested him to determine whether the child was his before throwing him in jail? And if the woman fabricated DNA evidence, she ought to be jailed. Also, the process of arguing in Court rather than simply testing and announcing the results is just obscene. All arguments and posturing are totally irrelevant.

I don't believe the psychotic behaving woman in the 1st story had the mitigated gall to call a man she sent to prisin for 5 yrs selfish. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the selfish one being vindictive because he didn't want her lying behind. Her attitude was disgusting. She didn't even apologize to him but just said get away from her son.

I have sons and informed them of these. Be careful who you are having relations with. The child support system can be very unfair- Makes me sick 🤢 what they do to some men or women. Ofcourse, people should take care of their responsibilities and held accountable if they do not help raise the child or spend as much time. I can’t even write enough about this topic. Just be careful who you sleep with, because you will not get the money back or the time and no one will be held accountable if your found Not to be the father. This is Great Show- to educate others about what can happen.

The laws clearly need to change. Make DNA testing mandatory at birth, make everyone show ID to sign the birth certificate, every child should automatically have the mother's last name UNLESS a present father is there to sign and have ID to show proof of who they are and no judgement in court should automatically list a father on a birth certificate by default or go after him for child support without DNA testing showing proof of him being the father or a non biological father being present to sign in court with his ID present... Ijs!

In the UK, the child automatically takes the mother's surname unless the father attends the registrar at the same time as the mother and child, presents ID, and agrees to sign the birth certificate.

Second case: regarding the expert witness: she was asked about the possibility of fraternal twins having two different fathers. She answered a completely different question from the one she was asked. She spoke about some women being more likely than others to release two eggs.
