I completely agree. My aunt died 2 years ago and her ex husband came to the funeral for his kids. They were married for 26 years and divorced for 28 it was not a nice divorce and they didn't get along at all during those 28 years. But he knew his children even though they were adults would need him. There were as many tears from people because of him being there for his kids than there were at the actual funeral. Not one person thought it was disrespectful to my aunt or to his 2nd wife. We all were just thankful that his kids had someone to lean on.

Here’s my take based on what was said. Beware, it’s kinda long. So the girl’s mother (RIP) was a gold digger and a drug addict. She had the baby and didn’t tell the man until she realized how much she needed money, knowing he came from it, to keep her addiction going; hence why she “sold” her daughter to her parents at 6 months. The man resentful of what the mother did wasn’t a physically presence in the girl’s life but provided fiscally an exorbitant amount to give her many of expensive things which neither her mother or grandparents told her were from her dad in order to make him a villain. She stayed with him for a while but not knowing how much he contributed financially, as well as being resentful over him not physically being there, tried to make him as miserable as possible, to include dressing skimpy and stealing from him until he had enough and kicked her out. Not to mention all the resentment she held over the years led her to hanging with a bad crowd. Now years later after all of that she has created a story in her mind that he was a monster of a father and way worse then he actually was. While giving money is great it doesn’t make up for actually being there in person for her whole life. Plus her grandparents couldn’t accept what their daughter did so they put it all on him in a huge act of denial.

He said her mother was a crackhead- usually they date other drug addicts. He sounded like he was telling the truth- but as much as he remembered? She appeared totally snotty and self absorbed. I feel terrible she lost her mother- but I'm afraid this cell phone social media generation is raising a whole of these. .
