Do it now and get yourself a bittersweet experience. The game is more than a decade old but really holds up. There's a reason why even PoE1 is always pitted against D4 and other new ARPGs despite the age.

POE1 is good. But if ya starting out new ... it will be overkill how much stuff there's to do. I personally quit cause i couldn't decide what i actually wanted to do + it was a bit to spammy skillwise. POE2 looks better atm, but hopefully endgame wont result in massive spam again.

I saw the D4 "expansion" trailer... Took the money I would've spent on that, and all the money I would've spent on cosmetics for a Paladin/Crusader class, and bought $160.00 worth of mtx's in POE, because it transfers over to POE2. So thank you Blizzard, for helping me support a developer that actually cares about it's customers and not the loans from Blackrock.

If anything, the gameplay appears to be too fast since many skills are still haven't been balanced properly yet and are dealing too much damage, so it's too easy to stagger bosses when playing coop. I already noticed from this playthrough that GGG added some invulnerability phases to bosses so they wouldn't die too quickly, but hopefully that's just some "band-aid soluution" for that playtest before they can finish balancing how much damage players are dealing.

8:10 skills are not unique to classes in poe, they might present you the identity of a class, but anyone can use any skills from other classes, they just need the gem

@@GrandoOfficial You can be a ranger slamming enemies with a 2 hand axe or a barbarian with a bow yeah, you can even weapon swap from lets say monk staff with freezing strikes to a crowbow shot gun with the press of a button.

Some people don't like the slow gameplay but Slower doesn't mean it's not doing the same objective. As stated in some interviews, it looks slowed down due to polished animations so now: - Instead of attacking+stutter steps, you can attack while moving. - 200 projectiles can now be 20 and with proper scaling, it will reach the same goal. - almost all attacks have movements so all wind up attacks in poe 1 can be overridden by absurd attackspeed so you can move again while poe2 makes up for you winding up and moving at the same time. What you see is an early game experience and no optimized stats yet where people break the game again to feel close to poe1. It'll be not as fast but game feels and visual clarity should be better than zooming in poe1.

Honestly the zooming in path of exile 1 is so unfun. Especially when trying to play co-op and two people end up moving at two different speeds, and it destroys the experience unless you have complimentary crafted builds for each other.

@@JakeNKlappy you mean zooming in poe2 couch coop. You can still play co-op with different systems and would not lock you on the screen. It's better to lock both players in the screen than removing half of your screen just so you can leave behind your party.

that is just so well made...incredible fights, incredible sound! incredible animations and FX, holy crap man, that fire and frost effects are so great...i cannot wait to get my hands on that thing! i have over 6000 hours in PoE1 and i will most likely never touch that game again when 2 comes out. Great video. I really like what I see and I can't wait to play the game later this year . I have 4000h in poe1 and I do like the fast gameplay in the endgame but I really like this too Right now I'm playing a lot of Elden Ring , preparing characters for the Dlc, so I'm a huge fan of bosses in general The poe2 bosses look amazing

once skills are somewhat balanced this game is going to be a blast. The bell skill and boss stagger were OP. You had a pretty good team composition for that demo

I was going to say that. Honestly I think POE2 will be a totally different experience compared to POE. The entry-level will be different. Definitely Fun and Frustrating as there is so much to absorb on how to make your character better.

New players have to be told that because PoE has had a massive amount of content added over a decade that was made mostly for current players to discover and solve its not designed to explain stuff. They have to go in with the expectation of a long learning curve that requires external websites, guides, and other resources. Similar to how no one would expect to do well going blind into a high fidelity 747 simulator and trying to land.

I would also recommend Children of Morta, because POE2 reminds me of that game a lot mechanics wise. Works great in co-op as well.

I'd prefer it stay closer to this speed, as it'd force the design direction to make gameplay more deliberate, requiring players to pay more attention to the moment to moment gameplay... as opposed to the spam rush to kill tons of mindless enemies that pretty much every other APRG devolved into.

@Kanon i miss raiding and dungeons like in lost ark in poe. Do you think it's possible this game could evolve into some sort of an mmo? PoE 1 was not able to because everything was to fast and flashy but i think in poe2 this could work. I think also all you Lost Ark players would be interested in that

I prefer seeing what's going on myself. I think more impactful attacks, timing, and positioning improves immersion. I don't like too many lights in the attacking animations. I'm not against it, but it's just too ridiculous as you continue. I think more games should tone it down more. You need to use effects to accentuate important movements.

S4 is good so you gotta buy something you don't have info about except for a list of features and a cinematic. You don't even know how a single basic skill of that spirit born class looks like but hey, is gonna be good, right?

Love the moment to moment gameplay.. boss fight are amazing... abilities are way more impactful, much more tactical and engaging gameplay than other ARPGs My main concern is how they will manage to keep it like this while satisfying the power increase fantasy that most ARPG players want... most games like this turn into a shitshow of crazy damage while everything on the screen just explodes.. really difficult to do imo... will be an epic game if they manage to pull it off.

Yeah the executioner that they melted tag teaming that bell, was one of the hardest fights at the last singleplayer event. Definitely a delicate balancing act, letting you feel powerful, while also keeping the bosses dangerous. Will keep evolving and hope they can hit the sweet spot by release.

They confirmed the endgame will be a lot faster. Not a scrazy as POE1 and definitely without the visual clutter. Lets hope so. What Jonathan stated in an interview, is that they want you to feel like you earned the power you will get in endgame, by deliberatly slowing down early game. And I think that is a great I dea. I love fast builds and blasting, but the visual clutter paired with the graphics always turned me off of POE1. I think POE2 will be great though. Can't wait.

@@laurent29093 I think it’s never a bad thing to always have it tangible as something to go for though. it doesn’t affect anyone else’s gameplay. and it can be very fun, light flicker builds for example.

@@laurent29093 why not both though? you cant reach any of the "crazy" things until later on in a league, and that's if you're really trying. a lot of people don't have 100 divines before the end of the league, so, why cap players who want to "go the distance" while the combat they focused on creating, still mainly exists.

I love that you can actually think to kill the enemy, not that stupid skill spam and loot grab all the time, to make bilions of builds and discard everytime since you keep droping and killing mosters in lights speed. This game actually made hate how diablo 4 was made, and yes, even with inifity resources blizzard keep coming with stupid design flaws and poor decisions and risk aversion.

Thank god it looks slow, methodical and skill based. POE never drew me in because it eventually progressed into messy bullet hell, entirely consisting of flashing colors and lights that just showed big numbers.

I'm so happy that the game won't be like POE1's screen vomit... Literally impossible to watch a streamer play end game because half the time their map is up or full time, and there's just screen vomit... Impossible to tell what's going on, and not fun to watch if they're zooming through all mobs, insta-clicking their passive tree skills (I have to stop a VOD and rewind it to see what passive skill they've chosen), etc...
