No one created the atlas, the atlas just exists, Shaper is just a first guy in recent history that managed to recreate the map device and explore what it led to, facing the elder in the process and whatnot.

This is very encouraging! I just started playing PoE myself about 3 weeks ago. I am also playing a Boneshatter build but I'm playing a Slayer instead of Juggernaut. I am level 88 and I'm about halfway through mapping for atlas points. I'm loving the build but yeah it's not great at bosses. I also play souls games and always enjoy a challenge. I've been following your videos and it's encouraging seeing your progress. Thanks for sharing them!

I would always wonder why you would just spam leap slam in place sometimes and i never looked at your keybinds and saw that you had leap slam on left click lol. I did something similar when i first started playing PoE where i didnt know i could rebind my left click so i would often die default attacking enemies not knowing why i wasnt moving.

Leap slam kinda sucks vs pinnacle bosses because until you land you can still be hit and killed in your original spot, so if you try leap out of a slam or other heavy DPS youre vulnerable for a fraction of a second, but sometimes thats all it takes lol. Flame dash is usually recommended for every class unless youre feeling spicy.

I'll say that after you're done with the league and all the bosses, you definitely should watch and react to Ben doing the uber bosses in Ziz's gauntlet.

@NyxVellum he is not the one who created the Atlas. Atlas was created for another entity (in fact Eldrich Entity, unlike Shaper) - Elder. Trying not to bloat it too much... There is an entity who is known simply as Light Keeper. And he is some kind of Mega-Eldrich-Entity. Who makes other Eldrich Entities. Thing is - none of his creation seems doing what he designed them for, somewhere in the process always perverting intended role. Elder specifically meat to be some sort of keeper or lore and history. But he ended up just eating all memories he could reach to. Atlas was his personal realm. And he seems specifically aimed to prey on world of Wreaclast. Hard to tell when, but it seems some mortals became aware of Elder and Atlas. And created secret society known as Watchers of Decay. They managed to subdue and trap Elder inside his own realm. After that they remain on duty to see that he would never escape. Hard to tell what happened to Watchers of Decay, besides that their organization seems seize to exist at some point. But somewhat bout 30 years before current time in PoE, High Templar (at a time being) Venarius discovered strange device left by them. And he ordered renowned artificer by the name Valdo Caesarius to rebuild it. Which he did, and found out that devices can teleport you to some strange distant worlds. At first all those worlds also was completely tranquil (due to Elder being incapacitated). Valdo also was very cautions about letting Templar know real capabilities of that device. Which eventually made Venarius grow impatient. And he confronted Valdo, threatening to take away his only daughter - Zana Caesarius, if Valdo keep delaying the work. Valdo activated device for Venarius. But as Venarius and his team entering it - he sabotaged it, causing it to shatter and implode. What he didn't expect - is that implosion caused his daughter to be sucked in. Eventually he rebuild device again, trying to rescue his daughter. And while exploring worlds of Atlas - he eventually accidentally released the Elder. learning about Elder's nature later - he also dedicated himself to never let him out of the Atlas. Elder however, as he do, started to slowly but surely feeding on Valdo's memories. For long time Valdo remain an opposition to Elder, but eventually completely forgot who he actually was. And simply became known as Shaper. Again story bit too vague on how, but it seems Zana eventually actually was able to escape Atlas on her own. And as a grown-up woman she hired group of exiles to explore the Atlas and look for her father. Which they did, finding both her father and Elder. Was forced to confront both, and eventually defeating both. That group of exiles later became known as Elderslayers. But... that leads to another story on it's own. Let's just say we currently belong to a "third generation" of exiles.

minor correction, the shaper is not a pinnacle boss. the uber elder (using fragments you get from farming shaper + elder) is a pinnacle boss, alongside the maven and the searcing exarch / eater of worlds. if you kill the shaper with maven witnessing it, there is a bit of RNG as she gives it random buffs- some make it quite hard for a build with your damage etc. but doing it with her watching brings you closer to being able to do the toughest of maven invitations- 'the feared'

Good video. Also did him this league and completely forgot his abilities. Its actually a shame that on high dps builds you see the beam and then he is dead. Hope in poe2 the game is moreof an even field with good builds doing maybe 25x the damage of bad ones and not 25000x the damage xD I want to build the best character i can but i also want to get challenged. I usually just die to expedition mods that kill low life players or random oneshots.

The reasons you are dying a lot are 1. You have leap slam on left click, there are often times you jump in place instead of Boneshattering 2. You run away constantly thinking your totems will do anything, you are a Boneshatter juggernaut, you are tankier/leech life/regen more life if you just stand still and just hold boneshatter and get as many trauma stacks as possible so enemies literally melt

4:08 death - the balls put a degen on you. You get clipped by one before taking a full 3 that kill you. Additionally, those balls can crit and if it does, it's all 3 balls critting.

Broooo he finaly changed the click to walk. Its a must in this game. I also have space bar on potion for panic heals a d right click is my dash. Also your build is very weak. Idk why but you take too much damage and deal too little. With your build you should survive shaper slam. Btw there is a suffix for items, irs rare, but physical damage taken as: It is absurdly good for defense. Look up lightning coil for an example

The fight is much easier if you stand really close to his face. You have long two hand weapon so your default range is too long. If you hug his face when you damage him, he uses auto attacks as well, which vastly lowers the number of ball attacks he will use. Also when you get the grey ball chase you when waiting in the buble, you can just run circles around it if you carful enough inside the buble. Good job tho! I remember my first shaper.. it took me 3-4 tries as well to learn the fight, but it was great experience.

That's completely normal. Not every build can farm every boss. This is why we have atlas. Also shaper is quite annoying because of phases and pauses. Other bosses does that better, just pure boss fight, no minibosses and map exploring

Pretty much everyone fails their first attempts at shaper... :)

The dude spamming on every video for him to change the slam into movement-only must be in tears lmao. Difficulty and boss mechanics in ARPGs can be a bit weird for me. When one is doing good, ignoring danger is the main strat in favor of completion speed and boosting the juicy loot shower, but as soon as there is a meaningful mechanic going on, one has to full stop at once and consider their options. Here lies my main issue with ARPGs. When the difficulty is not evenly distributed along the journey, you end up with a build that just won't allow you to progress any further. And since you've been ignoring danger for so long, you don't have any defensive gear for difficult encounters since equipment in ARPGs is pretty much a Jenga, change one piece and it all might crumble down. You'll also end up praying for respec options or else you'll have to replay the whole thing and discard your current character and progress. I've been stuck in many different genres before, and so far ARPGs are the toughest in that regard. Having the mechanics be much more than DPS/HP/Resistances checkpoints is so great in ARPGs.

Nicley done, But u seem to be out off sync allot in the fight., May whant to check if u can change to lockstep mode in network settings and hope u font get stutters instead. fyi Lockstep keeps upp whit the server more but need better internetspeed. Predictive mode the client guesse some where u will be and doesnt use as mutch of your connectionspeed but u can get out of sync, witch can make u get hit by stuffs u arent in,
