Build Updates:
NEW 3.13 CHANGES:
- Trickster saw some changes this league. Losing a bit of movement speed and spell dodge chance. However, Harness the Void was buffed slightly!
- Overall this will largely be a wash, the build will remain very similar to last league.
- The Auras have been changed yet again working in the new Herald of Purity!
- The skill tree has been reworked as well, gaining extra life and damage!
- Our anointment has been swapped to Singular Focus.
- Frost Shield has been added! An incredibly good addition for boss fights.
OLD CHANGES:
Heist Changes: This build may be receiving a small buff with the new skill Sigil of Power.
- The curse changes shouldn't affect the build much. You can choose to run an Assassin's Mark ring for improved single target damage or a Conductivity ring if you want more versatile performance.
- Added a new medium cluster jewel that allows us to blind and unnerve enemies we curse. This is heavily recommended.
Alternate Quality Gems to Look For:
- Storm Burst: 10% increased Skill Effect Duration
Main Harvest Changes:
- New nodes like No Witnesses now grant the build easy access to Elusive.
Gear Changes:
- A single Call of the Brotherhood has been added for the damage conversion.
- Oskarm Nubuck gloves were dropped for a solid pair of rare gloves.
- A Conductivity on hit ring has been added.
- Rumi's Concoction was added for an additional defensive layer.
Gem Changes:
- Vaal Righteous Fire has been added for a huge damage boost against bosses! Only use the Vaal portion of this skill.
- The Cast When Damage Taken setup has been switched around to make it more consistently helpful.
- Elemental Focus has been dropped for Controlled Destruction. This gives Storm Burst the capability of chilling/freezing/shocking our enemies.
Tree Changes:
- A Cluster Jewel Skill tree was added!
- Large optimizations and changes have been made to both skill trees.
Other Notes:
- Make sure that any added lightning damage you get on the weapon is "added lightning damage to spells" specifically.

Love the content as always, love that you had some good recommendations for each slot at rare level as someone that plans on doing ssf this league it's always nice to see a build that doesn't rely on a ton of specific items, but can be improved with them. I've startet the League with this and as I've got family just arrived at Blood Aqueduct, but it was a breeze getting there and a lot of fun so far with sub par equipment. I'm happy I chose this one and am very thankful for this amazing video! I also like the comfortable play style of the one without pressing a million keys per second :-D

I will echo many others to say that these are the BEST video guides out there, hands down. Please continue! You should also consider seeing if you can find a partner who is willing to translate your guides to written form. It would be awesome to have as a quick reference - during league start for example. It would also be easier to post updates after future patches.

I dunno about that. Tons of just as extremely detailed guides that are written of various sites. And there is other youtubers with extremely detailed guides aswell. But yes the guides are extremely well made indeed.

You have no idea how much i love this build. Especially that it's really cheap to make. In my case i went mostly for elemental, lightning and spell damage. As well as global and spel criticals. These are stats that can be found easily on POE Trade and cheap as well. Of course i also went for energy shield, health and mana and added to those regeneration stats. This is the first build iv'e made that can actually do not just Tier 1 that i had a lot of problems with on my other character. But also pushes moderatley towards 14-15 tier maps. First time ever i can say that i'm finally part of the end gamers in path of exile. And it feels amazing. Thank you so much.

I just recently found you while looking for a new updated Ice shots build, but I gotta say, this build looks insanely fun. I played arc for the last 2 leagues, and this seems right up my alley with that since I love lightning and casters. So I think I might switch to this over ice shots! Great guide. Great build that can do any content in the game with ease. Been playing this for the entirety of 3.9 and it melts everything. Esoro, or whoever happens to read this, a few suggestions for updates for the high end. 1. Get a shaper helm with Innervate and put orb of storms setup in your helm. Add in controlled destruction and your OoS clears packs for you like you wouldn't believe. This also lets you boost your arcane surge another 2 or 3 levels for even more dps. Don't be afraid to craft one with an awakeners orb that adds innervate as well as +phys to spells. 2. With two COTBs (quality them up with ele damage too for a whopping 96% conversion), Heart of Ice is hands down the best amulet annoit. 3. I replaced Rumi's with a Wise Oak. Huge DPS boost and more elemental defense if you balance your resists. 4. Don't be afraid to ditch the Oskarms to take gear to the next level once you are melting everything. A nicely crafted pair of fingerless silk gloves increases defense tremendously without too much of a dps loss. With 3.9 its pretty easy to get a ele weakness curse on a few different items now too. 5. Build really benefits from some chaos resistance on gear. I got to -10% and it was enough. 6. Get a Awakener's orb and put Tailwind and Elusive on a pair of boots. It makes the build so much more enjoyable. This actually feels rather OP it's so powerful in every respect. I'm waiting for the nerf. 7. With a lvl 4 Enlighten you can easily run Herald of Ash, Flesh and Stone, Wrath, and Precision all at once. Hope this helps.

I really appreciate that, thank you for such amazing support. I will be trying my absolute best to make a league starter video that would be out before 3.9 hits. Furthermore, the first couple builds I make in 3.9 should be fairly easy to gear and I hope to have a build guide out within the first 5-10 days of the league! Of the builds I've made so far the options are probably Storm Burst, Lacerate and Wild Strike. All have very flexible gear requirements and can lean heavily on rares. The Wild Strike build can drop inpulsa but requires the two combat focus jewels which may make it tough. Any of these three could probably be outfitted to fit the needs of a league starter!

Regardless of the direction the new league will take, I will definitely play one of your "off meta" (if you can even call them that) builds and transition into your bow build. Ive played this game for years but i never got to endgame since i never looked up builds or read up on the game. Metamorph was my first "serious" league where i looked up guides and learned that poe trade was a thing. This build got me to early mapping last league and im looking forward to having this as my league starter so that i, with my increased knowledge of the game, can go even further. Thank you for making this game a whole lot easier to get in to! I can really understand why you are so appreciated. You make us understand, and thats no small task. Cheers!

One question I always was curious about: If the gems list additional benefit above lvl 20 (like say Infused Channeling support) should we go ahead and corrupt them if we have xtra at later levels to try and squeeze more dmg or is it not worth the effort (or mana cost) at that end? (or even the auras above lvl 20)

Probably just not listed. its usually 21/20% gems but thats some endgame tickling out the max dps. getting all supp gems on 21 would give you 4-5% more dps. if you can shit currency go ahead and currupt 20/20% gems since more dps is always good. also wrath doesnt benefit at all from being lvl 21. lvl 20 and 21 is still 21%more lightning dmg. same for herald of ash, it only gives 1% more fire dmg and only 15% of your dmg is fire dmg so thats basically nothing .

Hey, i love your build and i really love the clearing screen in a second. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and for helping new players like me get started with a well explained guide wich is understandable. I do have a question as for the skill tree. I think it is not very clear on how to level and take upon leveling up in the tree. This was my only struggle. Hope you will make a written guide one day. Best of luck and fun!

That sounds awesome man, hope you end up giving the build a shot. I'll update the build when the patch notes hit. However the only changes that will likely be needed are related to the endgame overhaul. We won't have convenient access to shaper/elder items but this can be easily solved. Simply swap the rings out for two rare rings and drop the watchers eye jewel for a regular cobalt jewel!

now that ive learned how ot mess around with the pob settings, skills, gems and items im really enjoying this build. i deff need to invest more into proper gear, but with elemental catalysts giving the dual brotherhood rings a potential 98% lightning converted to cold im definitely thinking off making that change along with hypothermia in the 6l unless i can somehow get awakened gems later. seems like fun, tho i might need to invest more in getting +% elemental as extra w/e on my wep once i figure out how the conversion function. this i alot of fun

This build was great for leveling and flying through white and yellow maps. Good for speed farming red maps but bosses are hard now. Starting to die in almost every single t14+ map and struggles with a lot of map mods. Metamorph bosses starting to 1 shot all the time, and the single target DPS seems reallllly bad without flasks up, which is all the time against solo bosses. I have about 5 exalts into my gear and i have room for more dps, but there isnt really another level of defense left for me to work towards and im already getting dicked on all the time. Overall i enjoyed this build and had lots of fun but i think you need to make a new buid for the metamorph and atlas endgame bossing etc.. will for sure keep on speed farming with it though

@@HookersCrookers Same here, its really squishy, get one shot alot. Stuck on level 90 with over 10exalts in gear. I like the gameplay and hate starting over but feel i may of hit my wall with this one.

@@aletheion The secondary skill (Orb of Storms) can be tweaked for fights like this. I already dumped OOS for Storm Brand because OOS doesn't fit my play style. I think a lightning trap or totem could be used in its place for fights like this.

@@Elite-999 About 15 minutes into the game o found out my 8 year old computer is probably too outdated for it. After collecting samples for tane (might be wrong on name), I spawned a monster who just froze my screen when the animations began. Had no issues with d3 though

@@jamalbrunski12 this league is about "hard bosses" and I don't know how big they are gonna get. Support gems plus seem like a very good reward, it's not gonna be a cakewalk. I remember the first time I ran into Malachai on day 1 of 2.0...

This should be a really solid league starter! It's extremely easy to gear and does some potent boss killing damage. You could certainly push the defenses a bit further than I did but it should prove to be solid defensively as is!

I've been dying a lot to bosses with this build(died to malachai 4 times) even with a lightning to life leech amulet. Any tips for bossing with this build?

Same story, doing maps, this build lacks defensive attributes severely unless u manage to find gloves/boots with enchantments or get ur evasion up at least to 40 % chance (had to run with grace on constantly > wrath simply cuz would be dying way too much especially to metamorhps). I kinda regret already i didn't play cyclone jug.

Are you running flesh and stone? Do you have your resistances capped? Do you have any of your defensive ascendancies done?

Don’t really need any glove or boot enchantments directly. Are you running flesh and stone in sand stance for the additional evasion? That change was made recently. Do you have a leech amulet? 6-7k effective life? Steelskin and a decent shield?

@@Esoro ok so i got much better after i did merc lab, picked up gloves with assassin mark. Ya, i have started running blood and sand + grace (cut off wrath but i don't have a problem with dmg output + steelskin helps a lot). I can now see the beauty of this build as u progress through the atlas, but initial grind without good items is a total mess

as soon as i got orbs with few of the supports I was recking everything following the guide. Flame Dash whatever is a life saver tbh I have steelskin but i don’t use it much tbh and i seem to be tanky since the beginning...

Tough to say for sure. However I'm planning on making a league starter video featuring 3-5 of my own recommendations for getting started in 3.9! That video should hit shortly after the patch notes arrive. Right now though it would be easy to recommend both my Storm Burst and Lacerate builds as solid starters. They should be off meta and really easy to gear!

This last one also is one of my favorites.. I also farmed in this season something around 5000 chaos that allowed me to enjoy every build you made for us. THANK YOU A LOT for your time and effort

As a console player, I just skipped to the tree at 38:52. The whole tree is on screen for a good deal over a minute to glimpse at. That was more than enough time for me to check what I'd need to.

Iv been playing this build since league start. Iv invested over 6 exalt trying to get the best gear for it. I have 8k effective life and max res and t14 bosses are crushing me. If you wanna clear maps fast and skip bosses and metamorphs it's a great build but deff can't do all content. I got to LVL 91 before the fragility stopped my leveling unless I grind lower tier maps with no risk.

Currently 86 and on yellow maps, no problems besides some metamorphs, other metamorphs melt in a few seconds. But I can certainly see where this will eventually end up. Also why is there no forum thread with ongoing discussions etc.? Super weird. Makes this high-quality production value videos and then abandons it? This build is simply too squishy for 3.9 I think. The problem with standing still is just not solvable in this league. I mean you can cast Orb of Storms and run in circles for 20 minutes but that's just stupid. I normally only play 1 char per league cause I don't have enough time and right now I wonder if that's it for me this league. I could go on until red maps but since I know that I will hit a wall, what's the point in continuing? I have 330.000 total dps according to PoB, damage is super, everything explodes instantly, most metamorphs melt in 3-4 seconds. But sometimes you just get hit by some weird metamorph and bamm, 10% XP gone. Will only get worse in red maps. Main problem is standing still, like I said, and that there is no way to quickly heal up again. And I have leech on amulet and 1 ring, still way too slow. Welp, back to real life then.

Might want to ask around there too (last post in the thread was me). See you there, hopefully we can figure sth. out. But honestly I don't think so, it's re-roll or gg.

I believe that Baker's build on Storm Burst and CI could be a good transition. But still no text guide and it's mostly sort of boss killer than fast clearing build. I'm also having a hard time beyond T12

Your videos are what convinced me to pick PoE back up after playing it a little at launch. They are incredibly informative, well done, and explain the mechanics of a build so well that even a complete new player with zero knowledge of the endgame can understand. Thank you so much for work you do on these builds. They help tremendously in giving players a goal while leveling because PoE certainly isn't one of those games where your character makes sense at first. It's only later that you reach your untapped potential and you do such a good job in showcasing that.

I made my first character and got through to act 3 with no guide. Everyone told me I would suffer for it and it's true -- I more or less hit a wall around level 40 ... I could survive but it was always a struggle bus -- So i started on this build yesterday and it has been much easier (so far) I am most the time unsure what I should be using for gear or what gems to make do with while I level and stuff but it's gone pretty well so far. I got my butt whooped by izaro though. Thanks for sharing all your hard work !

I mean, when I pick my Ranger and rush as a FrostBlade, I have multiple determinante choices to make it as smooth as possible. It's just an idea. Well thanks you for this StormBurst anyway. @@mars9819 yes leagues are sorta like "resets" with new mechanics. Once a league ends, your char will revert to the regular season. If you have played diablo 3 then leagues are equivalent to seasons.

Cleared up through t10 maps with this, great so far! The Call of the Brotherhood is AWESOME (just one currently) and really improves clearing and metamorph spawns phase. I grabbed a few extra ES nodes and they've helped a lot with survivability post uberlab. thanks for the build, especially the budget friendly options!

How did leveling go for you? I'm getting absolutely demolished at level 52 by things. Like even basic mobs can chunk my HP. Almost all bosses /morphs/ lab dude one shit me even if I try to dodge stuff.

@@mikrowaive1865 For me it picked up near the end of act 3, and only had trouble with a couple bosses past that point. Are you res capped, running flesh and stone, and using shield charge+fortify? I made it a priority to grab the life/es nodes while leveling as quickly as possible, that helped a lot too. Best of luck!
