It's difficult to know exactly what class to choose, because the options for each class are sometimes in feats, class abilities, sub-classes or focus spells. The point of this video is to give you a general overview, so you can say "ANIMAL COMPANION? Awesome!! I'm picking that one!"

Perhaps it would be good to make more detailed videos for each class on its own? It would be useful to have quick overviews for each of them.

So basically it's the 4th edition of pathfinder. It makes sense since pathfinder was a spinoff of 3.5 edition

Small correction: the monk’s powerful fist class feature only makes their fists deal more damage, not their kicks or any other unarmed strikes.
@robinbernardinis

Since you use the Fist statistics for unarmed attacks for any part of your body that doesn't have its own specific stats, it also applies to kicks, headbutts, and whatever else.

So about druids, their inspirations are more from the IRL druids, the pre-christian celtic equivalent of priests, who were generally a bridge between people and both the supernatural and physical aspects of the natural world (although the dnd class has a lot of other pagan and witchy inspirations from all over europe mixed in)... So depicting them as insular tree-hugging hermits is... a little weird.

Maybe change the title to "CRB only"? With remastered comming, it will be important to tell Core Rule Book and Player Core 1 apart.

So basically fighters in Pathfinder are weak compared to the fighters from dnd
@eduardoarancibia169
@eduardoarancibia169 Жыл бұрын
Eh... nope. Not by a long shot. Fighters in pf2e really shine at what they do ... fighting. That +2 to hit is a HUGE thing in this system, just think of it as having an innate +4 to hit and to crit range in 5e and you'd have something similar.

After watching a couple of videos, playing some pathfinder games and making myself familiar with the pathfinder genre, I came to the conclusion: D&D 3.5 is a benchmark. A flawed, but fun way to play that some people tried to improve. D&D 4.0 does not exist. Pathfinder 1e is a direct branch of D&D 3.5 for people not liking where D&D is headed, and is amplifying the fun of 3.5 while making it even more crunchy. D&D 5.0 is an oversimplification and sink for 3.5 and 4.0 ideas. Overall it's great and fun, but limited. Then there's Pathfinder 2e. An attempt at making a separate D&D 5.0/4.0 of some sort instead of sticking to its core 3.5 roots. And oh boy the more I watch, the less I want to play this colossal flop

I have been playing it off and on since 2019, the game mechanics are fun, but comparing it to 5E does a disservice to the game system. They are both very similar but encourage very different play styles. If you were to try it, I would find a group willing to do one of their One-Shots that comes with Pre-Gen characters or the beginner box as a small entry level to actually try the game. There are plenty of people on YT that exaggerate some pieces of the game, but overall the system can be very intuitive. If it is not the game for your group and your table the best to you, but I swap between 5E and P2E on a weekly basis. I do think the other point is the general consensus is that there is so much similar between P2E and P1/DnD that it can make it harder to switch gears, but is significantly easier to pick up if you are new to RPGs.
