Anyone have a brief overview of why someone would take pathfinder course or what it means?
@MrFlyboy13133 жыл бұрын
To be honest, many will take the course to add to their personal resumes and receive promotion points to get promoted to higher ranks with more authority like senior NCOs or mid level officers in the career fields of infantry, special forces, etc.
@freepat1012 жыл бұрын
It’s a huge part of air assault infantry. Pathfinder insertion was a major initial component of any air assault mission during training 94-98 in an assault Blackhawk battalion. Pathfinders were really essential to our mission set.

The male made the remark about running dropzones. He isn't qualified to run personnel drops unless he's Jumpmaster qualified and current DZSTL/DZSO. So, I don't know if he should be graduating.

Wrong. I watched a SSG who ran a drop zone and wasnt Jump master qualified. This was out of 20th SFG(A)
@RaymondInabnitt Жыл бұрын
@@jrr7031 "BY THE BOOK"... he shouldn't be running personnel drop zones. SF does things their way. I left SFQC in 1989 as a single parent. in 1991, I was a Blackhat, teaching BAC, Jumpmaster and Pathfinder. Several cadre I knew from JFKSWC showed up as students in Jumpmaster Course at Fort Benning. All of them had thrown me outta aircraft and had ran drop zones for the course. They admitted that they had only been shown how to do the duties, but had never been thru the course before.

Lt With all due respect What is a Pathfinder?
@portee91134 жыл бұрын
Pathfinders act as infiltrators/scouts, whose main job is to scout for, and prepare drop zones for troops or equipment. There is a ton of topographical details and math. This is without a doubt a combat arms position, and I've always considered one to be "elite."
@portee91134 жыл бұрын
@@bradleydixon9147 I always thought of the role more a a "mountain man" type of job.... as historically, pathfinders operated like sniper teams did, in 2 man teams by themselves. Now however they receive much more support, so the skill requirements can be divided up among as many as 6 or so people. In that case, yes.

riphaven - you need to review AR-670-1 and refer yourself to the wear of the soft cap or patrol cap. She is absolutely wearing that soft cap according to regulation. It is not dirty, it is not rolled or blocked, it fits her head, it is sitting on her head "squarely" and is parallel to the ground, her rank is appropriately positioned, the bill of the soft cap is appropriately curved, her soft cap is not bleached nor is it starched. Her hair is cut so as to not show bulging under the soft cap. So you've made yourself look like an idiot - and yes, I did serve in the Army for 10 years - - do NOT attempt to claim that I don't know what I'm talking about. Trust me, I do! That is all - now you go find something else to do - - move along.

@rightwingextremist22126 жыл бұрын
Zachary Frank no female beat me anywhere, I was a real soldier a grunt we thankfully didn't have any females in that MOS. Yes standards are lowered when women come in. If women are so equal to men then why does the military gave different pt standards for women (which are easier)? It destroys morale cause many men believe it is unfair. Women can serve as nurses or admin but not in combat roles. I remember on my two combat tours that war doesn't have a place for women, it's tough enough on men. You just don't understand it because you believe in this diversity crap
