Welcome back to our Deep Dive series!
You're probably seeing a pattern by now. After Irrisen in the far north we're going back down to the far south of the map, looking at the southern portion of the Mwangi Expanse.
This will be the first episode of a series of 3 videos. Because of its sheer size the Mwangi Expanse will be covered in three sections - Southern, Central and Western.
▬ Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
0:00 - Preamble
3:14 - History of Southern Mwangi
34:32 - The Bandu Hills
46:53 - The Shattered Range Mountains
56:10 - The Screaming Jungle
1:04:51 - Osibu
1:11:20 - Elokolobha
1:13:58 - Mzali
And don't forget to Like & Subscribe!

There's a lot more thought and detail given to this region then I expected and I'm pleasantly surprised! It's especially nice to see a mix of things that would make good adventure hooks, interesting settings and things players could use as a backstory for a campaign mostly set somewhere else. I think Osibu and that whispering well would be a great start of a longer campaign. I can see a hunt for one of the fallen sky cities also being a lot of fun and letting players cover a lot of the region. Mzali's instability could also be fun as a background element in a long game. And I can see the mystery around Ird, Arzikal and Old Mage Jetembe being a real draw or motivator for magically focused characters. There's a lot here that I like and gets me excited as a GM. (I'm a long way off running pathfinder, but it's always good to have ideas.)
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely, the whole region is seeded with adventure hooks. I think I said in a different comment, but I have to imagine that there will be an offical AP that takes you from Mzali to recruit allies in Vidrian.

Suprised that Iruxi don’t have a named settlement here. Jungles of the Mwangi seem like the perfect place for the lizardmen
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
Yes, they probably should. The majority of the Lizardfolk settlements are in the Sodden Lands and in the Western Mwangi which are slightly more tropical. Outside of the Screaming Jungle, a lot of this region, like around Mzali and near the cliffs, is a little more arid or its savannah, which maybe isn't as suitable for the Lizardfolk. You could also create your own Lizardfolk tribe, either in the jungle or in the savannah if you're playing in this area because you're right. Its still suitable habitat.

Just found your channel and I'm watching through all your videos, I love how they feel like documentaries! Point of clarification: Sihar is female, so that should be "when she named her rebellion" at 1:19:17 . Interestingly, Sihar's own name is also probably inspired by the Old Sun Gods, as they all share the suffix "har"

Yep, I caught that in the edit. I tried to splice in a 'her' from elsewhere in the audio stream but it sounded off. I considered re-recording the section but its such a hassle for me to set up my recording booth every time that I left the error in there. Unfortunately there are mistakes like this _all over_ my videos. Thankfully most people don't catch them. You get a special no-prize for spotting this one I guess!

I'm really enjoying your videos! Sometimes I have a hard time with voices, and documentaries can be difficult to listen to, but I'm finding that I don't have that issue with your videos. I've been binging! The Mwangi Expanse book was the first lore book I bought and I just fell in love with it. I do have a question, though-is all the art you use from pathfinder products? I noticed a few images (mostly in the gods videos) that appeared to be art taken off the internet, and I don't know if you credit those images to their artists. At the least, do you think you could slip a sentence into your descriptions about where the art came from, Pathfinder art or otherwise? I am greately enjoying your videos, thank you for making them! I love lore but dont always know where to find it. :D
@TheMythKeeper
@TheMythKeeper Жыл бұрын
This gets asked a lot. Most art is not Pathfinder art. I'm using Pinterest to source art, which doesn't always include accurate credits. Any time an artist wants credit, I'm happy to provide it and if you look back you'll see on rare occasion I do but it adds a ton of time to production which (see my response where I talk about how long these take) is an absolute beast.

Here's the math on my videos - for each minute of screen time you see it took me about 2-3 minutes to write that minute, 2-3 minutes to record that minute and, 4-6 minutes to edit the sound on that minute and 5-10 minutes to edit video on that minute. I think I average a 12x multiple on content length in terms of content production, so if you watch a 1 hour video from me on this channel it means I've been hunched over a computer for 12 hours or so to bring that video to you. 😅
