what does semi - supine mean ? found this : "Supine comes from Latin and means to lie flat on one's back. In the semi-supine position, the person lies on their back but with the knees bent."

The hands are seen resting on patients head constantly which is a big no, and the rests change accordingly when this is corrected, apart from that its a helpful video.

what do u mean exactly ? bent neck ?
@trancewha
@trancewha 7 жыл бұрын
perry hotter that is the main thing. Anytime your neck is bent over you are straining the muscles on the opposite side. You will also notice that to bend your neck over to one side the opposite elbow has to stick out sideways. That will also strain he shoulders. Most others are great. Main idea is get the patient to conform to you first.

@AzharFPD

Agree with you, but you should be aware that proper head positioning can't be obtained unless you are using microscope where your head become staight to your back, but not all dentists can afford having microscope, therefore this video provide a rough idea how you position your self and your patient to acheive a proper tooth preparation. The reference for this demonstration was obtained from Contemporary fixed prosthodontics Book by Junhei Fujimoto, Martin F. Land, and Stephen F. Rosenstiel
