The crummy thing about Outrun was also losing 5-7 seconds anytime you crashed. Do it more than once and you might as well restart the map. Was happy when I first played Crusin’ USA and found that this was not an issue

0:03 @@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries , I wonder if you covered The Fast and the Furious arcade and console racing games in your video as well? I think that one of them was horribly redone as the Wii title of Cruis'N', which was a low point for the franchise.

I bet you _really_ hated Ferrari F355 Challenge. Sega was always more punishing in their racing games which are more fitting for home consoles where you can practice instead of the arcade where it's eating quarters quickly.

You missed the entire point of arcade games you dingus. They're meant to be punishing so you can pump more quarters in so the operator can keep their doors open

The Cruis'n series is definitely some of my favorite Arcade racing titles. Every time I go to the Arcade, movie theater, or pizza joint, and I see a Cruis'n game there, it was definitely my go-to Arcade game I would play. I remember back in 2017, I tried Cruis'n Blast at Dave & Buster's, and it was a lot of fun. Of course it got released on the Nintendo Switch and it is STILL a blast to play albeit no online multiplayer modes.

Honestly, what the game needs is to have the Wii title of Cruis'N' to totally be redone, as well as to make an equivalent to the Super Mario All-Stars/Super Mario Collection/Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World bundle pack, but with the Cruis'N' games, and, hopefully, with the permission of the proper parties, to have the additional The Fast and the Furious, as well as The Fast and the Furious: Super Bikes, games ported to the Switch in this collection, as well as to also add bonus games, such as Excitebike 64, Excite Truck, and the entire Excitebike series, including the FDS/Japanese games, into the collection as well.

Awesome video as always. I adore Cruisn' USA and its sequels. Its such a shame that most aren't playable in MAME still... as the N64 ports whilst ok (especially when upscaled) don't play the same. I was really hopeful Eugene would release a Cruisn' series compilation on the Switch... but at least we got Blast. One thing to note is Cruisn' also came out on the Wii which was basically Fast & Furious arcade game with a name swap. The Wii struggled to run it though. I am so desperate to play this again in the arcade... Arcade Club in the UK had a stand up once when I went years ago there... but it got replaced... Each time I go in the queue at Arcade Club they have a Cruisn Exotica not working which rubs it in to me as I never got to play it in the arcades only on the N64. I do adore Raw Thrill games and really wish they released their games in the home... So many from their Super Cars, Super Bikes, Dirty Drivin' etc are pure heaven and more people need to play it. I was really hoping this would happen after Cruisn' Blast got released... but I guess sales weren't great.

FUN FACT!! The girl with the pink bikini/grey shirt holding the trophy is none other than retired adult actress Shyla Foxxx (Anutza Bellissimo)

My roommate in college at the time had a N64 and we rented Cruisin' USA from the local Blockbuster. I randomly mashed the buttons on the controller and quickly unlocked the school bus and the police car

I used to work on this game when I worked at Leaps and Bounds, a kids play place with tubes and ball pits, etc. After work we would stay after and give ourselves free credits. You could turn on a mode where you can hit the deer and the explode.😂

Wow! Jamming with the President of the USA in a hot tub circa 1994 must've been a real party. Especially when remembering who was president there at the time! Cigars anybody?

Pocahontas, Illinois had one of these. Neat little bar/grill on the FlatLands. 14yr old me loved it.

Wait a minute...Cruis'n USA came out in 1994? Are you sure about that? I distinctly remember that it didn't hit arcades until late 1995. It was around the time Nintendo pushed their Ultra 64 back as it wasn't ready yet. I also remember all the false advertising going on back then as well. I remember Nintendo telling everyone that Killer Instinct and Cruis'n USA were both running on real N64 hardware in the arcades. That was a huge lie as both arcade cabs had so much expensive cutting edge tech that they cost upwards of $5,000 a piece. I'm pretty sure both games had hard drives in their cabs to help offload all the crazy amounts of data needed for those games. Addendum- I loved Cruis'n USA and Killer Instinct in the arcades. They actually made me want an "Ultra 64" despite already having a Saturn and Playstation. That is until I found out the N64 was a cart based console...then I noped out. I did wind up getting one roughly 6 months after it released.

I loved this game on the N64. I didn't own it, but my parents would let me rent it sometimes at the super club Vidéotron.

I didn't own a lot of games either, sticking strictly to renting
