My dad taught me about this, I would follow him around and talk his head off and he would tell me that he liked me being around but to not ask so many questions. LOL He wasn't unkind about it but it made sense to me, he didn't like to talk much and I would talk just to fill up silence. He would make out like it was because he was so contemplative but I'm pretty sure it was just annoying him. Lol! Made me more self aware so that's a good thing.

If it's not mean and coming from a place of honesty, it makes a lot of sense. It's a good idea to teach you kids how to not get on your nerves too much. If you hold that in, you'll just blow up at them and they won't always know why. This goes for pretty much everyone too btw. Teach people how to treat you and your relationships will be so much better. Kids especially need to see that example set so they can respectfully convey their preferences to others. Being direct will save you and everyone else a lot of headache later.

I do the same thing with my stepdaughter, so I hope she grows up to take it in the way you did when your dad said it to you. I’m glad you shared this as I’ve been having second thoughts about being so blunt towards my stepdaughter as she doesn’t always take it well. This gave me hope so thank you mate 👍🏼

Can you teach this lesson to every woman in my family? Don't just talk to fill up silence. Silence is gold. It makes actual conversation more interesting. I swear my mother talks just to hear her own voice.
@Sprite_525
@Sprite_525 2 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome. My sister still mistakes silence in a man as a sign that they’re angry or thinking bad things. The second there’s some quietude She’ll ask what’s wrong or what the guy is thinking. When the guy says “I’m actually fine & actually not really thinking much,” she thinks they’re lying. Sad but common.

Patrice O'Neal - "The Nasty Show" (his BEST show, really pushed the envelope of what he can say .... but he times and threads that needle perfectly) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qt2Ed5h2ybLJcqc.html ☆ The show is 12:30 long, and you really need to watch it from start to finish to see his magic, his ability to convince the crowd to follow him down his depraved road. He starts a little normal, then ramps up the level a bit, just when the crowd has accepted this new level of gross, he ramps it up again .... all the way until the end (when people are laughing at gross things that they definitely were not expecting to laugh at when they came to the show originally). ☆ "The Nasty Show" lives up to its name, it is pretty nasty (talk only), and the video is 12 minutes, so I am not sure you want to do it on this reaction channel. But it is great, and I would be very surprised if all 3 of you didn't laugh out loud most of the show. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qt2Ed5h2ybLJcqc.html ☆ Patrice did this performance at the Just For Laughs in Montreal (!! so the people in the audience are not there specifically as Patrice fans, they just went out to enjoy an evening of comedy!!), this makes it even more funny to me [[an audience that is not initially on his side , he has to lead them over into his way of thinking]], but somehow he manages to do it. Cheers - *The first 47 seconds are him just making fun of the MC of the show, you can jump past that.
