July 14, 2022 n counting...he'd be hated more than Chappelle n Rogan combined!!! Hart has been pacified it seems, even Joey Diaz seems like he's calmer than back in the days but I may be mistaken. At least what was left behind still hits hard till this day!

"It was just horrible that Patrice, of all people, wasn't talking." That really hit home for me. Patrice was an extremely rare, and much needed voice of reason in these intellectual dark times. And of those rarities, all too often it feels like hes was the only among them who really focused on what mattered. Much love Patrice. RIP

Patrice's death still hurts me. I never met the guy and honestly, I didn't know a ton about him until after his death but knowing that the world is without this person just hurts. It really just sucks. Nothing more I can say about it really. RIP Mr. P.

I'd hire you to do my eulogy, Ser.. Well said. And of The One and Only Mr.P.... Grateful is all I can think to say...The man was and Is the voice of Men. My words can't express how much insight has been learned from his teachings, from His Life Lessons. And of those, I am extremely grateful. His Legend, Wisdom, and Hilarity will Always remain to Us, even if he's left us for the Better Fat Bitch up in the sky.. Rest in Peace King Patrice, Thank You for opening so many eyes.

*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ This dude... This dude, Patrice O'Neal (RIP) was deep. Always had great analogies. The best thing to me about his interviews is, although he's a comic, he's never "hamming it up" like most comics would be. Sometimes I binge on his interviews and the Black Phillip Show. Rest easy Big Homie. We're listening. 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
@grasd2

The fucked up thing is Patrice didn't get paid for his O&A appearances, so it's like "I just heard Patrice riffing for 3 hours on everything under the sun, what do I need to pay to see his stand up or buy his comedy special for". And the guy, an all time great comedian, died with $500K to his name, so there you go. It wasn't all about him not bowing down to corporate, he just didn't make you have to pay anything to get Patrice at his best.

+grasd2 Patrice got paid for every single appearance he ever made on the OA show. I love Patrice, we all do, but he was simply an obscure comedian killing small clubs before OA. After his exposure on that show (and howard stern to be fair), he took a massive career leap forward. Would have he got there without Opie and Anthony? Yeah, he was that good. But it is what it is. The trade off for doing free radio is that you get free exposure. Patrice wouldn't trade those radio spots for anything, I guarantee it.

sometimes i just reminisce and hold back the tears..i strive everyday to be as honest, and "righteous" as Patrice lived his life. it was truly admirable the way he navigated his relationships with everyone men and women. i got into him like months before he died, and i truly mourned from afar, and it still hurts...its been almost ten years now since the black phillip show came out..and got dammit, to hear him in his element on that podcast as firey and vital as he was...sigh....r.i.p man...rest in peace Patrice..i still seek out and listen to his material from time to time..his paradigm truly changed my LIFE i'm grateful to have come across his voice in my lifetime..

the cutoff ending is poignant and disturbing. I don't know if it was intentional, but he's telling about getting on the ride over and over in life, and as he's waiting in line to get on again it's abruptly cut short, and it makes me think of his own, non-metaphorical death.

That was The Brilliance of Patrice right there in that interview/podcast with Marc, I see everyone complaining about the documentary about Patrice O'Neal bc it left out this or that.... But if Bill's company did put in this or that, 'People' would find something to complain about... Patrice would have absolutely loved the documentary, simply FOR the irony that it was a SPECIAL EVENT on Comedy Central. Who were THE company who kept saying No to his 'comedic' ideas, he would have fucking done one of his literally crying so much bc he was laughing so hard... 'People' need to see/hear him on O &A with Bobo and they played the 'Up and Down' Game. Besides the unfortunate interruptions by the HOLE that Opie was. Besides that Albatross it was fucking EPIC.

I'm usually not a Marc Maron fan, but this is a great interview with smart questions. I have a new respect for the man and his interview skills. Good podcast. I saw Maron years ago on some program where he was antagonizing the audience and Patrice came after him. I never realised this was a set up because it was so well done.
