It's been a while since I have listened to this wonderful singer. I can only say I consider her voice to be the most beautiful in the world, what a wonderful vibrato, never overbearing, it blends in perfectly with her voice, it never distorts the intonation, as I've heard happen with many singers. A truly great artist.

Patricia est inoubliable. Sa voix était assez fantastique. Cette grande dame se permet d'en ajouter vers la fin ; (à 2mn24' et 2mn48'). Impressionnant. Ce qui est le plus impressionnant, c'est q'elle n'avait pratiquement pas de vibrato. Cela prouve que cette grande chanteuse lyrique devait travailler énormément. Merci Patricia, tu resteras toujours dans nos coeurs.

Such a glorious voice--I often find myself returning to this rendition, this singer. I played my students a video of her singing a different aria, along with another singer, more famous, who I won't name. All students had to do was listen and watch and vote. Here in China, all eight of the third year students in my literature class chose Patricia. Nobody knew about her already: she won them heart and mind at first encounter.

that is some recommendation bearing in mind that Breganza was around 25 at the time of your link below and was a seasoned trained performer by comparison to this young lady, who had only just turned 18 at this performance. it will interesting to see how far Patricia has progressed by the time she reaches the ripe old age of 25 :-)

Que triste me puse hoy...no sabía que había fallecido, no vi ninguna noticia al respecto de su fallecimiento. Sabía que tenía cáncer de mama, pero pensé que lo había superado, de hecho pensé en unas vacaciones ir a verla algún concierto de ella pues adoraba su voz. No la seguía en sus redes sociales, pues no soy de usar redes sociales. Pero si de escucharla, pues su voz me encanta y sus interpretaciones, no se que decir la verdad. Mi madre con 60 años superó un cáncer de mama hace unos años y estoy agradecido a dios por ello, por eso di por hecho que ella podría. Pero al final no pudo. Que lástima y que injusta es la vida. Su voz y su legado serán eternos .Descansa en paz.

This is certainly a beautiful rendition of this aria. Perhaps those who gave it a thumbs down objected to something other than the singing. I think that the instrumental accompaniment is a little too loud. I found the pizzicato rather distracting.

First:This is a part for a mezzo soprano and not for a coloratura soprano! Second: This is a "concealed" love-song!Nobody would sing a love-song at that speed! (voice excellent:performance very good)

@@pebo8306 What rubbish! Patricia is not a coloratura soprano, and Voi Che Sapete can be sung delightfully by anyone from a counter-tenor to a soprano. I am relieved to find that, at 73 years of age, I still have an open mind... Music is not for scritchy old narrow-minded bigots with acid in their hearts... Adding a dose of ignorance did not help you.

To be honest Opera had never been my thing .. but i have to admit ever since the first time i listened to Patricia sing a few years a go now she's drawn me in like a magnet to it knowing now what had work people like Patricia put in to thier profession i truly appreciate what real Opera singers do and should sound like compaired to the fake wannabee's with microphones

I first heard Patricia Janeckova's voice a few months ago, and KZfaq has her voice for about a decade so far. I was mesmerized by the clarity and brilliance of her voice. She later became my walking companion. However, I recently read on Wikipedia that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has taken an indefinite hiatus from her career. I was very surprised. The arias she sings in her operas are of course wonderful. I also learned about Lloyd Weber's song, "Pie Jesu" from "Requiem". What a pure voice. I will always be waiting to hear your new voice again.
