ouch that's a hard fall! He and yuzuru do have the best musicality and artistry. What amazes me about patrick is his ice coverage. he's so fast, and he covers most of the ice!

Chan definitely has great ice coverage, but can't agree on Uno, he has way too much double foot crossover in his skating. Too bad he used to be better in his junior days but he has been focusing mostly on jumps once he moved to senior.

hmmm i would have to disagree, Uno's fp has a stunning range of transitions and has an enormously large ice coverage baring in mind he is 5'1". even the cbc commentators say so

Such a beautiful programme, shame about the fall and the stumble.

Patrick may be inconsistent, but he is definitely NOT done yet. If he ws consistently bad in hs performances, then he is done. The sheer brilliance of his skating skills and performance is a joy to watch, a class act. Yes, the peers may be technically superior in their jumps, but frankly, none of thm are as enthralling as Patrick. Hopefully, things wil look up for hm nxt season wth a new program, and coach Marina Zueva. She didn't describe hm as a "rembrant in motion" if he is really DONE !!

Sick to death of how the judges hold this guy up despite missing two key elements. They do it time and time again. How can this splat fest be better than some of the guys they placed below him? OK so he can do edges and has a nice style - he's not the only one.

npe1 It's funny if you look at Patrick's reaction he's surprised he got such high scores too. Wonder if the judges gave him full credit for the rotations on his quad because he was clearly more than a quarter turn short.

Well what can you say? He's the best Canada's got at the moment.

His edges and transitions are just a lot harder than everyone else's. I used to think, how can he fall and still be so high but the system is what it is and he is the best at everything but the jumps

Despite this poor SP he is still in great shape and may be able to deliver a stunning FS. And I do not like his FS music. He needs something more powerful to match his strong skating.

Freddy Budde What he really needs to do is match his level of jumping to his level of skating skills and he would be unbeatable.

Chans time has passed ,,, Chen, Hanyu and Uno are too far ahead technically ,,,I doubt Chan will see another podium unless the others completely fall apart , or if he watches it in TV !

At the end of his career, he brought home the first ever Olympic gold medal in the team event for Canada. Canadian men field has been a mess since his retirement, lolll! The national champion did not even qualify for the free skate at the 2022 Olympics and finished at last position, and someone even hyped that "him" up as the complete package that Canada had been waiting for. ))))) Brave!

Its a shame. Patrick's time is over, a new order has arrived, and his name is Chen.

James Bolger nathan chen will earn medals no doubt because he really has powerful jumps and huge stamina to pull it off. But he lacks artistry i do hope that he improves his style and artistry in the future, if he does then he will be the best,,,

Nathan Chen will be great when he's able to feel the music and he has some lack of artistry as well.

Since Chen is the upcoming supernova from America, he's being scored based on his "potential" to bring out great artistry. Chan no longer has any advantage over new upcomers like Chen :(
