I remember growing up and watching Arsenal each week with my stepdad, he was 25 at the time and I didn't see much of my real father at the time, and it made us bond so quickly! I idolised that team Viera, Henry, Bergkamp, Pires my room was covered in Arsenal... I will never forget those days! his favourite player was Viera and mine was Henry, fast forward around 20 years and now me and my stepdad discuss on the phone about how good Jesus signing is! And I like to remind him his nearly 50 lol

I'm a man utd fan and despite the rivalry loved watching Arsenal You made us better and we made you better. Definitely the best rivalry In the Premier league Henry is the best player in the Premier league, but Bergkamp was my favourite arsenal player

That guy run rings around people, its also a shame there is no keane characters anymore because Utd need someone like him in the team to add some steel and nerve which seems really needed at Utd at the moment. I think one of the things that make Vieira such a a good player, captain, manager, and just all round leader, is how he is such a calm character. He always makes you feel everything is under control, everything is okay. Nothing to fret about.

@@aminmahendra199 Pogba is miles ahead of Patrick skill-wise but that barley matters pogo is a much more attacking orientated mid whilst Vieira very often liked to drop back and bully and posses oppositions. Two very different players but Patrick made much more of a positive impact on the players around him

I thought Palace were taking a real gamble with Vieira, but he's done a very solid job with them and proved me wrong. They deserved more points last season. Should be solid again this season.

Viera is very interesting coach - he created a dangerous team from Crystal for any opponent and constantly finds new players, and also introduces interesting tactical moves into the game.

Those battles between Keane and Vieira were stuff of legend. We'll be discussing it in our arm chairs in 50 years time. Add in the genius of Scholes and the underrated Petit (who is rarely mentioned but was a super midfielder) and you had something really special. Even when Keane and Scholes were missing for us, you'd have Nicky Butt and Phil Neville being combative in there. I remember Phil Neville having Vieira in his pocket once 😉

2004 FA cup semi final Villa Park, Phil Neville was superb, won the midfield battle, like you said Viera in his pocket, just like the tunnel incident above, United won 4-2 and Keane had Viera in his pocket , Viera went into his shell after this incident, Keane bossed it
