@mjdagoat Жыл бұрын
Correction we did do it in two plays belicheck paid for that call. When he catches the ball his knee goes down first so technically he survived the ground next football move was ball crossing the goal line which is a TD an his right hand is under the ball possessed in his right hand when the ball moves he still has possession of the ball in his right hand this was the biggest boldest cheat for Brady an pats I've ever seen hands down every refs should have been investigated an belicheck also I hope he keep on getting his karma to ugly b!+ch. If you watch the play, clearly NE understood a spike is a win. The defense has to force a FG, a TD is the only loss in that situation. A spike forces 4th down, they fg to tie for OT. Big Ben showed spike, and only 1 receiver moved on the snap. All the other guys on offense just stood around. Defense swarmed to the one guy they had to defend and played defense to the last second. Steelers players its like they mentally went to the locker room on the review and checked out; or simply weren’t prepared for the last play of the game situation.

That's what somebody would say if they didn't watch inside the NFL. Ben wanted to spy it, Tomlin told Haley to tell him not to spike it and get a play ready. And as usual, Haley was late getting a play in, so Ben ran the play with Rogers on-the-fly hoping to make the best of it. The ending of this game and his alcohol antics is what cost Todd Haley his job. It's ironic though Rogers was interfered with and of course there's no flag on New England.

Brady brought the Pats back 11 points in 3 minutes..(including a crucial 2 point conversion) *51, 4th Quarter/OT comebacks in his career* As for the Refs winning it for the Pats you better learn the rules before you appear any dumber than you already come across as..It's considered an absolute incomplete pass if the receiver does not have full control of the ball after he is down or touched..Once he crossed the plain of the goal line it was not only visibly rolling and turning in his hands it also was trapped against the turf..(that's the rule) Under your warped interpretation the NFL is the WWE..not only that they still had chances to win but Little Ben tossed into triple coverage for a game ending INT..(go make up some new *FAKE* posts somewhere else you twerp)
@DoctorX1016 жыл бұрын
@Trev Mac: and notice how Mike "I Trip You" Tomlin does not comment on the rule since he is on the competition committee that UNANIMOUSLY agreed to it. He knows it was the right call. He hates it, and that is fine. Sad irony is if James simply secured the ball it would have hurt the Pats more. Getting a TD in ~30 seconds is difficult, sure, whatever. But if James tucks it properly, it is First and Goal at Half-Inch line and the Steelers have two shots to get the win with a TD or simply tie with a Field Goal. If they get the TD, the Pats have like 10s to do anything. Indeed, some Pats Talking Heads wonder if the Pats should have NOT gotten the TD so early. Some even claim the Steelers "let him score." The guy grabbing on to his leg did not get that memo, apparently. Funny old game.
@trevmac83626 жыл бұрын
i call B.S on Pitt letting the Pats score also..Steelers at home in the rain and allowing The Pats to score with only 50 seconds left/no way..What it was /was a guy named Dion Lewis doing what he does best and getting a TD in a big play situation..I mean i always loved Kevin Faulk when he was with The Pats but Lewis is Mr clutch and consistency (2 running fumbles in his entire regular season career going back to Philly) It all comes down to Pitt not being able to beat The Pats simply because The Pats are better coached and prepared and Brady is Tom Brady..What i also find funny is a level of possible professional jealousy or incompetence when being selective about past meetings with certain teams (MIAMI) "oh The Pats have trouble beating Miiami" WHAT? From 08-13 The Pats won 9/10 at one point.Let's call a spade a spade even though Belichick is too classy to admit it.It's tough getting up for Miami especially when you are looking at bigger games down the road.I got some front running friends who don't have a favorite team because their whole life is hating on New England week after week.And i got the 'Jay Cutler is better than Brady' B.S all last week by a couple of dopes.But i said wait till Pittsburgh next week and now i notice i haven't received any Christmas house invitations from about half a dozen Brady haters (ha ha ha ha) ..I've been a fan of The Pats since i was a little kid and my dad introduced me to Mack Herron (R.I.P) away back living in Chicago in the 70's

Even though we still had a few games left and we were still going to the playoffs, it felt like our season ended that night. This was because of how good NE was and how if we couldn't beat them at home, we'd never be able to beat them on the road given their track record. It was probably (if not definitely) the most painful regular season loss I ever remember as a Steelers fan, it really did feel like a playoff game. In retrospect, it hurts more now because despite a few little flickers of hope here and there afterwards, that period I feel was the last time the Steelers were bona-fide SB contenders during their Big Ben era window, and now that Ben is gone we as Steeler fans are starting to really realize how good we had it when he was with us and how hard it is to find a true star QB in today's league.

Zilla, as Spock's half brother said in Star Trek 4 movie ages ago, "I feel your pain." Patriots have spoiled Pitt post-season games or plan (the case in this one) many times IN PITT since Brady - Belichick took over. That play by James would I think be a TD under the catch rules now (in 2018 season) in place. But it CLEARLY wasn't in that game once the player's hands and the ball were inspected carefully. But still .... you at very least should have gotten a tying FG to send the game to OT. Romo was correct .. whatever the pass play called ... NOT A SLANT. Pats ruined Seattle in SB 49 and they did it to Pitt in this game with goal line or end zone pick. Frankly, Ben could have rolled right and if no one was open, overthrow it.

based on what Ben said in some of his post game interviews, he was planning to spike the ball, but the coach in his head phone said don’t waste the play, so there was some confusion, which contributed to the poor execution, given the time he couldn’t call another play to his team which was expecting a spike, so there was a hand signal to the receiver, who ran a slant instead of a fade. If Ben is correct, I think the coach just added to the confusion. When you have seconds and the clock is ticking you should probably just leave it to the QB.

Life in the 413 according to the rules of football, a pass becomes caught and a receiver becomes a runner when he has 1.positive control of the ball 2.two feet down 3.completes a football act. 1. He had positive control of the ball, the ball does not move in his hands until after it crosses the goal line, at which point the play is already dead 2. One knee=two feet 3. He stretches his arms out in front of him while in possession of the ball in an attempt to cross the goal line before he is touched down by a defender. A very common act in the game of football. All three aspects of a catch are satisfied. What happens to the ball after it crosses the goal line in the possession of a runner is irrelevant, because the instant the goal line is crossed the play is dead, which is why you can’t* lay out a runner after he’s already crossed the goal line.
