Can confirm Daz statements 100%. My "best friend", who I only meet on her days off, earns as "SuperModelGold" at least 150 up to 200k baht/month. But when we are together I have to pay for everything and she whines that she has no money. Very nice story, Daz.

That's a nice story, Daz. My 23-year-old freelancer shared a similar experience. It's interesting to note that she's wise enough to realize that Pattaya isn't an ideal place to raise a family, which I agree with. There are too many temptations around, such as the lively bars (every night is Saturday night), adult candy store-like atmosphere, and the lack of gender limitations. In short, Pattaya is like Disneyland for adults, and Line is like Grab if you're hungry for sex... ;-)

I took a girl to Isan to see her dying dad. She said she wanted to fly for the first type. Looked like a veteran on the flight. Got there and I joined Dad watching TV. I think he is still dying.

I remember a gogo dancer from Happy a gogo getting married to a German guy who took her back to Europe. He was wealthy and bought her a new car and she was a kept woman. I was back in Pattaya the following year, and there she was, working in Peppermint,🙄 I asked her what happened? Too boring in Germany and missed Pattaya too much🥹 No hope🙄

Pattaya for both men and women is the city of dreams. Just like the titanic was the ship of dreams. But if your not careful that dream can turn into a nightmare and cause folks to sink. Im being metaphorical obviously. Good video daz.

Thank you Daz for another great video. I know that kind of "mother" from my last visit. She scolded my girlfriend while we were together from phone because she thinks my girlfriend did not give enough money to her. I saw everything in my girlfriends phone. I did not give extra money to her because of this but it was very uncomfortable situation for both of us. Then i had to stop seeing her, even though she demanded no extra money from me. There is a saying in Turkish that " look at her mother and see her daughter", so i think it was a good decision for both of us. One other girl said to me that she was very upset and has broken heart after her splitting up with her Thai boyfriend, she had depression and one of her Pattaya bar worker girlfriend said her that she could come to Pattaya and could find a farang boyfriend. She really looked serious about it, I don't know if there is money involved it or not but she looked very sensitive about her situation. She was decent girl, maybe some girl really wants to find foreign boyfriend with the obvious reasons that you told in your previous videos. Hope to return as soon as possible, have a nice day!

That story is one I have seen in the Philippines many, many times and it is a shame but a lot of these families are just trying to do anything to get food on the table! The struggle IS VERY real in South East Asia and it's very difficult to not want to help. Not everyone are scammers but we do have to keep our wits about us and have good common sense. Like the girl from Surin (sp); I could only stay in Pattaya for one month 😂 That said; I’ve never gotten close enough to a bar girl to have ever been hit up for more than a motorbike home.

When I was working in Bangkok in '07 there were a couple of girls in bar-beers who told me what their Western beau was sending them each month from his home country. I got the impression, reading between the lines, that these particular girls just wanted me to say: 'What a cheapskate! I'll pay you double that if you will be my steady lady.' I didn't fall for the trap, although I liked the girls. Some of these hostesses in Patters and Bangers really are wily and are particularly good at reading farangs, even us battle-hardened ones. Changing the topic: concerning that new arcade you show us at the beginning, Daz, on the corner of Soi 8, it is monikered WE ARE THE WORLD. Presumably, it is replacing the old bar of the same name a 100 yards further north on Beach. I spent many evenings in that place, which was a bit of a barn and had a good happy hour. There used to be listenable live music there as well, catering especially for farangs like me over 60. My guess is that the music in the new arcade is going to be very different.

I spent 2 weeks in Pattaya last year, it was great :). And while I absolutely agree with Daz that this is what the girls *attempt* to do, it's puzzling to me how so many men fall for it. I mean, if a girl I met a few hours ago is trying to "be a real friend", I become super-suspicious, without thinking. And even more so if there's financial incentive. I came to like a few ladies, after having seen and talked with them multiple times in a GC, but that was still miles - or months - from becoming friends... And I was fully aware what they do: day in-day out.

Very funny Daz, I've always thought that these girls families know what they are doing when they come to Pattaya even if they don't talk about it back in the village. I wouldn't be suprised if when they did go back home that the family squeezes every baht out of her that they can.

For many years there was a good band at that bar on the corner of soi 8 and beach rd. I didn't see an area for a stage so i wonder if there will still be live music there.

Always good stories with a message and advice. 👍🏻 One way I prevent this scenario. I only have a Smartphone that can connect to free Wi-Fi and that's it. I do NOT have a Phone number So I can not send money or join Line etc. But it takes good pictures/ I can use maps/ and Email my family and let them know I am good. and safe.

A girl I barfined from KINK "twice" told me its all about the money as it pays for her lifestyle, she showed me pics of her travels to Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and the party life in Pattaya which she preferred over Bangkok. Trust me the good ones do very well.

The ending reminded me of a girl who stayed with me back in about 1995 who worked in a bar in Soi 8. I asked her if her mother didn’t mind her doing naughty things with farangs (and bearing in mind a few girls were going home to die of AIDS back then) to which she replied “No, but she say if I start drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes she very angry me” As long as money got sent back to Buriram mother was perfectly happy with the naughty goings on. Normal rural Thai way of thinking back in those days when girls as young as 13/14 were sent to work in the bars to send money home. That didn't work so she "got in a small accident," and then "sent too much money home and can't afford food." lol She's like a fisherman, who tries different bait hoping something will work. lol
