Another great review! I think what's most disappointing is that the formulas are cheap and unoriginal. Some of the products even contain PEGs, which not only has negative consumer perception due to the contaminants Ethylene Oxide and 1,4-dioxane, but also because the latter has been labeled as a "possible human carcinogen" by the EPA. There are many effective, innovative, and cleaner haircare ingredients available. These celebrities have the resources to really provide thoughtful formulations with carefully curated ingredients. Instead, we get base-level formulations containing outdated ingredients (e.g., Aminomethyl Propanol (AMP) in the leave-in conditioner??? It's GRAS but old). Maybe I'm expecting too much. But when a woman of color says she is making products that cater to curly hair types, I expect some thought and consideration to go into more than the packaging and the product to not be on the level of TRESemme or Aussie. I can buy well-marketed, nicely-packaged mediocrity anywhere for much less money.

@Welcome's House I called out TRESemme and Aussie (who don't even market to Black people) because they have formulas that are cheap and basic, which is exactly what Pattern Beauty should NOT be. That was the point of my comment. I never even mentioned Pantene. But to your point, I don't expect anything from those companies. Also, if a Black-owned company sells the same crap that everyone else does, claims that it is specifically designed for Black hair, and marks up the price, that's exploitive too. Considering the myriad ways Black people are mistreated in society, we should do better by each other.

This video was EVERYTHING! However the amount of manipulation you would have to do, to get the product to work for 4a/4b hair seems like it would not be worth it. I’m happy for Tracy but I’m only grabbing the afro pick.

NaturallyPhilo indeed it seems like her products require a ton of water! After using phase 1, that is the information I got. When she said it gives you a touchable hold, I was like ya type 4 girls are gonna be annoyed lol. Because not all of us like defined fluffy hair, but more water and patience will get me through on my next wash day lol

I love you 2!! Those coils were formed perfectly and I think the style would have been fantastic with other products. $9 for just a sample size is way too much for flakes and ok results.
