You are right brother. He helped many many small music directors giving their first hit songs but not taking fees or a very small amount I was really surprised to know that rafi sahab returned rs 20k yo Raj kapoor after recording the biggest hit of sangam ,he returned because he liked the song the way it was recorded he kept 20k near the pillows of his son who was not well at Raj Saab bunglow, can any one give back that big amount in1964 even jitendra himself said rafi Saab returned 16k when jitnendra paid rafi Saab 20k after recording of sing along with kishore da. Kishore used to charge 20k that time but rafi Saab took only 4000k as his fees returned back 16k. If we calculate his help to producers,directors, music directors actors at least he might have returned iackir never took fees at ho up yo5 lakh in his entire career 5 lakh between 1950 and 1980 huge amount no OE can imagine or have that big heart yo help people with 5 lakh inky saint of Bollywood rafi Saab could do that.

@@aijazkhan1018 ji. Rafi belonged to Kotla Sultan Singh, Amritsar. Before 1947 Lahore film Industry was going strong and Rafi sb went there to try his luck. After 1947 partition, Rafi Sb's family alongwith his first wife left for Lahore, Pakistan. Rafi Sb had left lahore for Bombay before 1947 and stayed there. He never visited Kotla Sultan Singh as his relatives were no longer living there. He remarried.

I m 46 now since i was 6 years of age i used to Listen this song i cryied how a humanbeing can sing like this voice goes accross the heart and ever i listend i cryied even today & i m 3 rd Generation from my home.
