The legendary Patti LaBelle, donning her best Liberty weave, performs a rousing, astonishing live version of "Oh People" with organ accompaniment from the late, great Billy Preston and a gospel choir. Taken from the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty festivities closing ceremonies, broadcast live on television on July 6th 1986.

The are no words for this performance. You can see how proud Billie is to come get her on stage with a smile because he knew she was about to slay. Then as Patti started singing, she go transfixed and that is amazing! Even the choir is in amazement

Everybody did their job from the stage hands to the musicians to the singers, lighting, costume designers and hairdresser, sound man set designer , choreographer , makeup artist , all the way down to the manicure and the pedicure to feel great from head to toe when you hit that stage... That opening note in the beginning of the video ALONE! cracked opened the skies then beamed ALL THE WAY into the unreachable heavens and you know what brought everything and everyone up there DOWN to earth including GOD himself! Supreme diva yes indeed at her book 📚 signing.. Patti and Norma sitting at a card table when I went up to get my book signed," Don't Block The Blessing", this was in San Francisco on Van Ness Street. I remember Norma told me I need to be in Los Angeles when I told Norma I want to stretch my acting range the way Patti LaBelle stretch a 🎵 note...This was indeed a command performance...

Labelle is mediocre in comparison, a loud noise with an ugly sharp tone with very poor phrasing and average agility that barely gets a mention when it comes to great voices. Only a nut compares that to a voice which tops every industry poll as the greatest voice in recording history. Now go and take your meds and stop embarrassing yourself.
