This needs more appreciation, Patti Smith is just the definition of what moms and dads who want pretty little princess would hate, and just seeing her out there not giving a shit is so damn empowering >:))))

Back in the '70s, Bernie and I saw Patti play at the UMass gymnasium. Bernie got so excited he took off all his clothes and was dancing butt-naked near the front of the stage. When Patti saw him, she reach down, grabbed his hand, and pulled him onstage. Patti strapped an electric guitar around Bernie and he started banging away making noise (he can't play.) After a minute or so of this frenzy Patti smashed her guitar and the show was over
