Thank the gods that Voytek Frykowski's family filed a wrongful death suit in 1971 on Manson and any proceeds from any of Manson's art, writings, music goes to Voytek's grandchildren since his son Bartek died in 1999. His children receive the money instead of Manson's estate.

Manson is considered by many to be a cult hero. If we see someone wearing a Manson t-shirt, we should hold up a picture of Sharon and all the other victims. He created this horror. He may never have touched the victims but he certainly played a key role in their deaths.

Patti also didn't went down very well with industrial rock musician Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. The last occupant of the original 10050 Cielo Drive bungalow where her sister Sharon Tate once lived and she and five others were murdered by Manson followers in 1969. Trent having felt that the aesthetics of the house he rented perfectly matched his second album recordings, "The Downward Spiral", he even built a studio naming it "Le Pig" in reference to the word "Pig" that was smeared at the front door in Sharon's blood when the murders were carried out. These were seen as quite disrespectful by Patti because for her, it was an insult to the Tate legacy. she approached Trent and said, "Are you exploiting my sister's death by living in her house?". Trent's meeting with Sharon's sister Patti completely shattered his indifference to the house and caused him to reconsider. He said that he did like where he once lived but "Didn't support serial killer bulls**t", his stay at the former Tate murder house was cut short because of his meeting with Patti and he didn't want to be seen as someone who supports a serial killer. Besides having his recording finished, he was to be away on a one year tour anyway. So he left in December 1993 saying that there was "too much history for him to handle there". A few months after Trent left Cielo drive, the old home was demolished in the summer of 1994, its surroundings all modified and a huge new mansion bearing a new address Cielo drive 10066 was built. Producer of Full house TV series Jeff Franklin occupied that new house. Trent was said to "steal" the front door of the old house where he once stayed taking with him to his new studio at New Orleans probably for preservation. today, all that remains of that old home is that front door. It is terribly sad that Guns N Roses would record a song from the mind of a mass murderer, but what is really disturbing that he would wear a Manson shirt while performing. How anyone would find such an action acceptable is beyondme.

The stres of attending parole hearings definitely contributed to her cancer , the grief she experienced from a young age releases the stress hormone cortisol which can accelerate poor immune responses in the body .

I am on the side of Tate and her family. I don't listen to Guns and Roses, but I admit I do like one or two of Manson's songs. I like reading books about the family, and I have done my own art related to the case. I have to be honest, but it is hard for the family for sure. There was a band called Spahn Ranch too.

It's hard to be really sure whats comes out of having a Manson song pressed. On the surface it may seem like a glorification along with Axl wearing a Manson t-shirt in concert, but on another level it may be an education tool to alert young people that such a madman exists. I'm not sure that hatred doesn't run thru all people with Patti Tate not being immune. I can't say I would be any different, but I hope that chain can be broken or clarified.
