Venezuela is one of the most bautiful place in the world: pristine beaches , mountains, tropical forrests rare animals and stunning architecture and culture and it is a deep shame people know little about and how discusting the sutuation i have told so many people about the situation how a person is killed every 30 mins or how flower and a feww vegetables can cost 500 usd but i feel its not enough and i cant wait the day i can visit a stable prosporous gem again. 🏖🌏🙏

Your Venezuelan video was well presented, factual (as far as I could verify and investigate further), and powerful. I'm so glad you did it - I learned a lot and it prompted me to dig a little deeper. It's far too easy for Americans (I am one) to see a 2 minute story on the evening news and think we know all about very complex subjects, before we move on to the next topic and go back to dinner...

Legit when you started saying that when things get better back home, and you're gonna take Chris, and he's gonna see how awesome the REAL Venezuela is, I kinda teared up a bit. I haven't been since 2009, before things got real, real bad. You say that the video you did was just your small part in helping the situation, but I think it's one of the most important things any Venezuelan can do right now, especially one like you with an audience and a platform: fight disinformation and lay things out the way they are for people not in the know. I really fkin HATE false claims and FaKe nEwS, and I don't have the patience to explain the whole situation every single time, so I just send people a link to the video and let them educate themselves a little.

@KarlWinterling5 жыл бұрын
Hugo Chavez was funding social programs by taking half of the funding from oil revenues and paying for the other half with debt, without investing enough into PDVSA's physical infrastructure to maintain the same level of oil production. Now, PDVSA couldn't get back to its previous revenue levels even if oil prices rose to pre-crisis levels. The comments BadMouseProductions made about democracy are asinine. We could debate democracy vs. direct action endlessly in our Ethics 101 course in college, but it wouldn't change the fact that Maduro is a corrupt authoritarian. There's no hard and fast ideological distinction between being a socialist and supporting social democracy unless you're arguing from some type of quasi-Maoist perspective. It would be nice if I could snap my fingers and replace capitalist liberal democracy with workers' councils and collective industry, but I can't. What a political movement can do depends what's feasible in a given situation. Marxists and anarchists have failed to show that the term "socialism" accurately describes, hence none of the rest of us on the left should feel obliged to use it when it's commonly used as an ideologically bigoted slur for more-to-the-left-than-what-I-subjectively-think-is-reasonable.

Including the spontaneous cursing: “gilipollas” nunca sustituirá un “mamagüevo” dicho desde lo profundo del alma, ni hay equivalencia en ningún dialecto ni idioma a: “eres un rolitranco e’ pajúo”. Gosh, I miss so much cursing in our slang!
