@NY Devil I find it hard to believe that you actually these guys but ok. In interpols tour diaries Paul talks about doing mushrooms and ecstasy. Carlos has openly admitted that he did alot of drugs during the early days of Interpol. Carlos and Paul would do coke but Carlos would do just about anything. This is nothing new, it's all out there and they even talk about how they cleaned up once OLTA came out in 2007. And they literally did a whole show were they were obviously drunk and quite possibly on drugs in La route du rock in 2001

Jesus after watching this...this really hit me in the feels. Been listening to their albums all morning (after not listening for years), bringing me back to a time when I was young and felt so utterly captivated by Interpols music. It was like the soundtrack to my melancholy adolescence. I identified with the way they sounded in a raw and real way. Seeing Bobby talk to him feels like a loop being closed. Yeah man. I was just thinking about a friend of mine who passed away a few years ago and he got me onto Interpol. My first song I heard was Obstacle 1 and I had that song on repeat. They're fantastic and I hope I get the chance to watch them live so some point.

I absolutely love Interpol. When I was in high school in 2005, the album Antics shaped my personality and taste in music. I listened to it nothing short of a million plays and I bought the LP a year or two later. A great guest that I never expected TB to get on the podcast, good job guys.

Everyone always wants to talk, talk, and talk.... Paul, on the other hand, is a great listener. In this way he understands deeply the nuances of the human soul, and I think that is where the great poems of Interpol come from (in fact they are not just simple songs).

Loved Paul Banks, new favorite guest of all time, and this podcast has reinvigorated my love for Interpol! Now for some good ol' C.C.- I understood the Patreon angle when they were struggling getting consistent sponsors and that's why it exists to help creators. BUT, there were 4 ad-breaks this episode... I think the consistency and quantity of sponsors is there so I don't understand the separation of content anymore but that's just my two cents.

Honestly.. I've been a fan of Interpol for about 5-6 years now... listening to him here, and seeing him share other people's interests, and his seemingly benevolent approach to people has made me respect him and his music 10x. What a fun interview.

Wow. Im from Australia and a massive hip hop fan but Interpol from Turn on the bright lights changed my life, luv of music specifically that genre and made me learn how to play guitar. Ive seen them a few times in Melbourne but the penultimate was travelling to see them in NYC for TOTBL anniversary gig. 4 days in NYC only for that, did it in absolute style and was more than happy to see that than travel back to Europe for a month. So I completely understand where Bobby is coming from when he talks about this band. Thanks for one of your best shows, The Best of Both Worlds.

Bobby, I am not sure if you read posts but I wanted to thank you for loving Interpol as much as you do. Paul, Daniel and Sam are some of the greatest musicians around. They have consistently made music that is expressive and emotive. As a fan since my early teens I have watched these musicians morph from quiet and reserve guys to global superstars. Paul is such a great storyteller and I wish he would write a novel.
