And Mathew’s is a very good player but I am with the majority of the nhl and don’t like the maple leafs. Toronto desperately needs to find a way to get rid of the dead weight on this roster like Marner, Tavares, Reilly, Liligren, Samsonov, all the European players they have these players all suck so bad! Draft or trade for some damn Canadian players who actually care & can win puck battles or go inn the corners who aren't scared to get hit. Last point when will Toronto ever get a true #1 Dman not half ass it with Reilly types who aren't a 1 or 2 Dman. Leafs desperately need 1 or 2 top level Dman to run the PP & PK. Bertuzzi wasn't the right fit for the team they need better wingers either through Trade or Free agents signings.

The leafs need to build a perfect team because the league allows teams to turn into a group of aggressive bullies and the leafs are wimps trying to play the “right way”. You know, when your a kid and your coach tells you “just play through it, the refs will get it eventually.” Except it doesn’t happen, teams continue to take liberties until we do something then the refs call us lol. If someone gets out of line? The league throws the book at us. Meanwhile a rag tag bunch of plugs like Florida can get hot at the right time, break the rules , get goony, and everyone sees it as a nice underdog story, lol. The nhl is a complete mockery of a league

I'm like 70% with you. Watching Florida throw tantrums, late hits, and cheap shots all the way to the finals without getting reprimanded was infuriating. At least in the end they got beat fair and square by a better team. As for "playing the right way", it's hockey. It's always been rough. The Leafs have to learn how to stand up for themselves. We saw it a bit more in the Tampa series, but they got, like you said, bullied in the Florida series. You're supposed to stand up to bullies.
