Gilbert is one of a small handful of oldschool guitar players who isnt a jerk, kept it together through the 80's & 90's and hasnt lost his mojo.

You know what's really great about PG, is that he keeps his pedal board nice and simple. He gives himself more time in playing than complicating stuff.

I like listening to this guy - I'm actually learning things about setting tones and vibes from him by watching this video! I really appreciate his openness and transparency about what he's doing, how he's doing it and why. For instance, during this video he actually shows you what do each of these different pedals sound like as he's going through them. One of the best guitar rig rundowns I have seen.

I met Scott Travis when my band opened the first three Fight shows back in 91’/92’. I asked him about playing with Paul and his experience in Racer X. He said Paul would fall sleep playing his guitar and they’d wake him with it still in his hands. Paul has put his time in and then some. 🎸

I like how simple his board is. Couple drives, a unit to power his pedals, a delay and reverb, phaser, chorus/vibe, and compressor. Most people would've shoved those pedals as close together as possible because "Hey, I can shove another 3 pedals on my board!"
