Paul is a highly underrated bassist. Even John agreed.🖖🏼

They were all (but Ringo) great multi instrumentalists. The idea that the Beatles were not good musicians comes from the 1970s when musicians began to outdo each other in virtuality on their instruments and virtuosity was confused with quality. There were certainly "faster" bass players. But is it???

Don’t know if Paul was ever underrated as a bassist. How many times was he chosen as bass player of the year?

The crazy thing is Paul played bass in the Beatles only because no one else would. Bass is his third instrument , guitar first , piano second followed by bass then drums. Then he plays an instantly recognizable line like the one in this song. You don't have to like this song but when you hear that bass kick in you know what song it is.

You got the 'reverse UNO' so right! After the Beatles broke up John Lennon was kind of mean to Paul, saying that he only made, 'silly love songs'. Oops! So Paul wrote this song in response, and it was a mega hit..so in your face, Joh Lennon! 🤣

Yep! John was hyper-critical about everything Paul and Beatles things. But he really was only that way with them because they were such good friends. I’m glad they made good before he passed. Everybody around John knew was a prick but he admired Paul as a songwriter but respected him more as a friend. That’s my head-canon. You spend a couple hundred hours with somebody writing songs (art) and then they become attached to your heart. They were brothers at some point. I like to think they were brother before John was taken from us all.

The blonde was Linda, his first wife and soul mate, she died of cancer in 1997. She was one of the premier photographers of the rock scene. Also an animal lover, cookbook author, humanitarian,co founder of Wings and keyboardist. She had a daughter Heather from a previous marriage whom Paul adopted,Mary,Stella and James followed.

Love all of Paul's work with the Beatles & solo with Wings. I had so many of his records. "Silly Love Songs" is on the album "Wings At The Speed Of Sound". They had so many great songs such as "Jet", Live & Let Die", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Band On The Run", "Let 'Em In", "My Love", "Helen Wheels", "Let Me Roll It", "Junior's Farm", "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Venus & Mars/Rock Show", "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "Mull Of Kintyre", "With A Little Luck" etc.

Denny Laine, RIP. "Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs \ And what's wrong with that?" "Silly Love Songs" was Paul McCartney's biggest hit with Wings. It topped the charts in 1976. I heard it on the radio so often back then when I wasn't yet ten that merely reading the name can start the song playing in my head even now approaching 50 years later -- that bass line, the melody, those harmonies, the horn riffs, the disco string arrangements. Even so, new things stand out to me when I listen to it again, like the piano section towards the end, or Denny Laine's counterpoint, or Linda McCartney's voice on the "I love you" counter melodies which add a touch of bittersweetness to the song all these decades later. For a banger from Wings, check out "Junior's Farm".

This is such a lovely happy song. I have loved Paul since I was in second grade and saw him on Ed Sullivan. Although i love all the Beatles, IMO Paul was always the most 'human" and down to Earth. It was very nice to see this film with everyone young and having so much fun. A little poignant as three of this group have sadly passed on. First Jimmy McCullough , then Linda (the blond) McCartney, and just this month Denny Laine.RIP to all and thank you for the music.💔

Fabulous song, so melodic, lyrically witty, and musically clever with all those moving parts working together perfectly, each one interesting in itself, nothing wasted. Irresistable bass groove. There's more quality packed in here in a couple of minutes than many bands could manage in an album, and it always makes me smile.

Wings have so many excellent tunes that mix melody and harmony with Rock and occasional bursts of intensity and diversity, usually all in the same song. " Beware My Love", is a favorite. Along with "Let Me Roll It", "Medicine Jar", "Venus and Mars/Rock Show", "Letting Go", "Junior's Farm", "1985", and "Spirits Of Ancient Egypt"..

Great point about it makes them more human and they feel more like a friend as well. And there's no way all four Beatles didn't have some level of PTSD after they went through Beatlemania in the early to mid 60s. They were just blue collar kids from a blue collar port town. I bet you would really like the story of the Wings hit Junior's Farm. It's so fun. And Hi Hi Hi is a fun romp. Another Day scoots right along in a light way but it portrays a woman and her loneliness or perhaps even depression. It's incredibly compelling and it was also a hit. Once it gets into my head it's hard to get out and I really don't even want it to, it's just a great song.
