That's because he's at that age where he's no longer very young, but isn't yet old. He still has the longer hair, but not the Beatles cut. His hair is still dark, too. Black and white film helps to meld the young and old look.

I saw a lot of teenage butts until a security guard made them sit so I, too, could get a chance to see the Beatles! It was an exciting adventure! Another thing was that as he started out on piano the bass side of the piano is on the left. He's picking hand was dominant. Gave him better percussive control immediately. Not the case in right-handed bass players. He was coerced to play bass after Stu left the band. That completely changed and strengthened the sound. That plus the fact he could sing STRONG lead/harmony vocal from the bass position. Most bass players are dead weight when it comes to vocals. Paul was unique and he revolutionized the bass player's position in a band.
@LeVezz

@@LeVezz Yeah, I've played with a couple of bass players who started out on keys. They seem to see music in a linear way and were melodic more than percussive in their approach. Ex- guitar players always seemed a tad too busy. Finally, I decided to learn how to play bass and sing lead vocal. That was 30 years ago. I've never been out of a gig since. lol

@@singlesideman Don't be an azzhole. To this day I don't understand why they didn't have one microphone for each person
@LeVezz
@LeVezz 2 жыл бұрын
They were very limited , we can't understand that with the infinite possibilities of today. They recorded all of their things with only 4 tracks , bounced them back on one track and did overdubs. today it seems silly but that's what they had. That's why people back then were better musicians, because they really had to play lol. It was not automated by a computer, pitch corrected etc.

@@LeVezz I agree, the creative ways they found to make music back then is much more impressive. I just didn't understand why exactly they couldn't use a third mic
@richardbanker6041

They shared a mic so either John and Paul or Paul and George could do harmony singing together and balence out their sound with each other’s distance from the mic. Seems pretty practical.

Without Paul McCartney The Beatles would have been nothing. Paul was by far the best guitarist in The Beatles. By far. But he humbled himself and took on the bass because honestly, who really wants to play bass when they are a great guitarist. But Paul accepted the challenge, excelled at it, and made the Beatles the best rock band on the face of the Earth.

@kenrichmond1215 I've had this argument with several ignorant people before and now it's your turn. A boy band is made from a bunch of pretty boys(can't use the actual word here, it upsets people)who answer ads placed by record producers. They are grouped together by looks, then taught how to sing and dance by the record company. NONE of them write their own songs and forget about them writing music, as none play an instrument. None of them grew up on the same street or went to school together. By the time the Beatles broke America, they were 20, 21, and 23 years old. Not hardly boys. Plus everything they went through playing the seedy clubs of Germany would have killed everyone of the pu$$ies that were in every boy band ever contrived. You should pull your head out of your a$$.

It's not much fun being a lefty atm, I'm actually a righty, but I dislocated my elbow and tore off my bicep. It's been 2 months and I still have a few more weeks yet of being a lefty.

Of course it's not fun being forced to use your non dominant hand because of an accident. It would be the same for me if I had to use my right hand. Anyway, hope you recovered well from that incident and that you can use your right hand again.
