Excellent additions. All great songs. It always amazes me when people are surprised when they hear Paul sing like this. He did it way back in The Beatles days, with Helter Skelter, Oh Darling, and even earlier, with the Little Richard songs, like Lucille, Long Tall Sally, and Kansas City. He is simply the best ever.

If you want to hear Paul sing like this you need to listen to some of his vocals with The Beatles. "Oh Darling" from their "Abbey Road" Lp is incredible, he let's it rip even more than on this one. "Helter Skelter" from "The White Album". Some earlier stuff like " I'm Down" from 1965. "Long Tall Sally" from 1964. Paul could belt it out with the best of them ever. Also one of the most gifted musicians ever in rock history. He played every instrument in rock bands. One of the greatest, most melodic bass players ever. One hell of a guitarist, great on any keyboard and one hell of a drummer. The most gifted musician in The Beatles and these four were all self taught musicians and all very talented. Then we have one Mr. John Lennon, this guy could shout, belt and scream it out with greatest of them. This guy may just have had the greatest voice in rock music history. He could be so gentle and heartfelt on ballads that it hits you emotionally or he could just tear it up. George Harrison was a great guitarist. He could do rockabilly with the best of them, ballads, rock and hard rock. Easily one of the most underrated guitarists in pop history. Also one hell of a bass player when pressed into action and could play some keyboards. I forgot to mention that John was one of the greatest rhythm guitarist ever, quite capable of also playing lead. More than adequate keyboard player. Played some bass and a pretty damn good harmonica player. Then we have Ringo Starr, by far the most underrated drummer in history. Just because The Beatles were never about playing drum solo's doesn't mean someone isn't a great drummer. Here's how this went down. In 1962 when John, Paul and George asked Ringo if he wanted to join the band after they fired their drummer Pete Best, John had one question for Ringo. "Do you like playing drum solo's" Ringo responded with "I hate drums solo's" and John said "You're in the band". They knew Ringo Ringo pretty well and knew he was the best drummer in Liverpool. Ringo said "I'm in" and the rest is history. Sounds too me that your not very familiar with The Beatles music catalogue of songs or their history. Both are amazing. John Lennon + Paul McCartney + George Harrison + Ringo Starr = The Beatles which = The All time GOAT'S of popular music and it ain't even close. All other claimants are pretenders to the throne. Period, end of story! One more note here. George Harrison blossomed into one hell of a song writer during The Beatles and had a great solo career. Peace ❤

There were a couple Beetles songs where Paul sounded like this. Check out "Oh, Darlin'" by the Beetles and "Maybe I'm Amazed" from his solo work after the Beetles to hear more of Paul like this. The Wings was Paul's band after the Beetles broke up. The blond lady singing the high notes is Paul's wife Linda. She later passed away from breast cancer.

He had some big hits with his Wings band after the Beatles broke up. The women is his beloved wife Linda who died of breast cancer at a fairly young age. Broke him up for a while there. I think they had 2 or 3 kids. They were young when she died. 'Band on the Run' was their big hit and it is a doozy. Really good.

I also like Paul, "the man of a thousand voices" at his gritty best. Hard to begin a list but "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Beware My Love", and "Soily" off of the same tour are great starting points. (DO listen to Soily.) My favorite vocal of all time is probably "Monkberry Moon Delight" from the Ram album. But as many have mentioned, he has DOZENS of Beatles screamers as well: I'm Down, Long Tall Sally, Helter Skelter, the outro to Hey Jude...I coud go on. Not to mention some of his way more obscure later stuff. The man can scream.

You ought to listen to the album " Wings over America ". Acoustic numbers , middle of the road numbers , a few Beatles numbers and some real rock numbers. The diversity of songs over the 2 hours is amazing. The band Wings has Denny Laine from the Moody Blues and Jim McCulloch from Thunderclap Newman among others.

Wings was formed by Sir Paul in 1971 and lasted to 1981. They recorded many hits songs "Band on the Run", "With a Little Luck", "Silly Love Song", My Love" and "Live and Let Die (Theme from the James Bond movie of the same name)". Lady Linda the love of Sir Paul's life learned to play the keyboard, piano, percussion and provided background vocals for the band. Sadly she passed away in 1998 battling cancer.

Damn I thought everyone knew Paul McCartney has one of the great soul , Rock & Roll and R & B voices ever! This is in addition to songwriting musicianship and being 1/4 of the Beatles and 1/2 Of Lennon & McCartney and a founding member of Wings. Still in his 20's or early 30's when this was recorded. Over achieve much Paul McCartney?

Check out the version of the song from the Wings Over America album. This video is from the film Rockshow, which has songs from the 1976 Wings tour of America. There is also a 3-disk album from the same tour called Wings Over America. Though they have many of the same songs, the songs are often different versions. I find the Wings Over America, audio-only, versions to not only have much better sound quality, but are generally better performances. For example, it is really hard, and often impossible, to hear the background vocals on the Rockshow versions.
