I'll never forget the first time I heard this, at Burning Man in 2003. I was electrified, and it still does it to me today. What a great album.

Such great memories here too! What city were yall partying out of? I was deep in Houston's scene for a few years, enough to meet all the true locals and production crews and was able to meet quite a few musicians. Personally my favorite live DJ was Donald Glaude - 1st time i saw him i was on stage right behind him and he was doing insane tricks, mixing up to 4 tracks and would use 6 tables plus synths to give u a show.

i miss the scene too! back in the day i thought it'd last forever and i thought everyone was living what we were living because there seemed to be so many of us. then i grew up and i haven't met a single raver outside the ATL scene i was a part of. i guess it truly was underground until 2000 when car commercials found our music. but man, at least we were there!

Wow.. I am so happy I finally found out what this song is called! I used to listen to this sone years ago but didnt know the name of it, all I could remember is how it sounded, I recently downloaded a song that started off with the end of this song and instantly knew they were some how connected, did an album search, and now I am overjoyed!

those were the days! when we said PLUR we meant it. Everyone really did rave for peace.... Love... Unity.... and respect, and I should add acceptance for everyone and non judgement. It was a really enlightened movement. These days the rave scenes I have no idea what they stand for.

If you're 30 and under and listening to this, please consider it in context to the time it was produced. Late 1990s, around 1995 to 1997. A lot of the electronic music back then was created with (now rudimentary) hardware synthesizers and low-spec hardware samplers then synced through what would be considered complicated means (no usb) to keep sync. Some used primitive versions of Logic or Cubase, but they weren't nearly as robust as they are today (and they were expensive). You had to know what you were doing because there weren't any how-to produce guides. No youtube to teach. And a lot of the knowledge was kept as secret from producer to producer. And Samples weren't quite as readily available so most people made their own. So these tracks were rather remarkable.

love how the echo and reverb in the voice catches you and drops you in the melody to get lost until you blink and you get lost again physically where you are or weren't you just oh yeah but this is more fun now...smiling and conversing with those whom around you when sometimes someone catches your midst adrift and plants your mind back in your body not speaking a word only with the intent not to drift too far cuz you dont want to miss whats happening right in front of you....plur to all...

This album facilitated and accompanied a major change in perspective in my life when I first got turned on to it and consequently trance as a thing back around 2000. It was the first time I had been exhilarated by music in a good few years. Thank you DJ Matt Stanton and the rest from the crew at the Northfield Dominoes for all the good times, friendship and of course for the music. Changed me for the better. Hope you are all still living life with all the love, vigor and energy you were then. Enjoy the ride, peace, and love. ♥️🤎💜💙🤍

Found this song "purple"- by paul oakenfold, Gus Gus "purple" (Sasha V. The Light), also solar twins "rock the cashbah" all on a cd called "Brainwaves" which was a compilation cd released in 1999 genre rock (technically but purple Paul oakenfold obviously some techno) so I'm sure both songs are on some other album by the actual artists or composers but this compilation cd was my introduction to these songs I actually lost the cd before I found out what the names were of these songs was bumped so bad but years later as I became more well versed in music I found them again also another big deal for me back in the days when we would use tapes and try to catch a good song right quick on the radio and record it from as close to the beginning as possible I went on this most beautiful memorable trip to California from utah and the while way down other than my original mortal kombat soundtrack & batman forever maybe a few other movie soundtracks I had "shine" by collective soul & "I want you" by savage garden and I mostly listened to those 2 songs in that order the whole way down to California me and my cousin Jessica who was a bit older I think 3 - 5 years older than me (I need to find out I honestly can't remember) anyway I had recorded shine from my older brother Keith I recorded it from his actual CD which was still kinda new I was still using tapes along with my cousin and most people at the time this was maybe 1993 - 1995 for absolutely sure before 1997 anyway I new shine collective soul name & artist of the song but neither me nor Jessica my cousin new what the savage garden song was she didn't even know it was savage garden yet she recorded it but it was still is such a beautiful song totally fits perfect for road trip especially the moments where it's sunset just has the right feeling & atmosphere to the song gives the feeling of passion & setting out for a true adventure again I lost it for decades always remembering the songs sound & words one day I stumbled across it while going through my ex girlfriend's itunes back when iPods first came out I wanna say 2008 - 2010 around there hearing it again was so surreal emotionally intense I started crying cause of how beautiful it is along with some of the very few near & dear to my heart memories that were nothing but loving & positive we drank nothing but strawberry kiwi Gatorade on the way down and thing us they don't make it anymore not that exact flavor or if they do it very very rare I saw a six pack on Amazon for a pretty penny way too much for Gatorade but I bought it and even the taste of it brought back not just the memories but the feelings almost as strong as being back there in person if I closed my eyes it was like being back in time I drank it while listening to shine & I want you I was wondering for years if I would ever hear those songs again and feel those feelings I felt on that trip of those perfect 10/10 few days I had with my grandpa and grandma both of whom are more like my mom and day I've always been closer by far to them than my own mom or real dad who split on me from birth and a step dad who was certainly no bargain so I'm so so thankful those songs and music in general in fact It probably would have been more fitting to have written this on the savage garden video but I just felt like writing it here and now just sharing a memory of a time & place where music touched my soul gave me a very special moment in life and just how powerful music can really be the impact it can have on all our lives we shouldn't devalue or underestimate it by any means it's a wonderful even magical thing music is the voice of the soul allows us to Express and feel certain feeling & concepts that are so emotionally or intellectually powerful things that can sometimes & can't other times be put into words but must be heard & felt by the soul I honestly think without music especially certain kinds we wouldn't be fully aware of all the feelings & thoughts we have inside us music shows us feelings thoughts we never new we had inside & some if we did not knowing just how strongly those feelings or desires are burning within side of us I think may people feel this way about music like me where in many instances music has literally saved their lives or really helped them to feel absorb process and move forward from a pain or hurt that without music would have otherwise had been repressed buried down deep only to come out later on in some much more destructive way music often helps me to process and deal with feelings that I just don't have the words for and often is better medicine for me mental health wise than any therapist has ever been even though I'm all for good therapy nothing against it so I just felt like saying how I feel about music anyone that can relate welcome to reply.
