I also miss the innocence that only happens when we're young. At least for some, we can look back and say "yes, it did happen, if only for a short while" I was lucky, it WAS one of the most beautiful things to happen. My feet never touched the ground after that first kiss.

This is the classic high school romance. In the real world, it actually happens. I knew a few couples where this worked out all the way to the passing of one of the spouses.

How true. Several of my high school classmates started dating each other during our high school years (1975-1979) then got married shortly after or several years after we all graduated, and all of them are still married. One of my classmates is now a widower after his wife died from ALS several years ago. True love.

This was my parents favorite love song. They also played it on their wedding day. In honor of the singers Paul and Paula, they decided to include the word Paul in all our names. Two of my siblings are also named Paul and Paula.

When I was married I remember playing this song in the kitchen while I made the wife dinner… she was sooo enamored with this song that she kept replaying it while she had me slowly dance this song with her. I didn’t think much of this song then, but now as we are apart I do. We are civil and respectful, and this song will always haunt that tiny kitchen in our first flat.

Paul and Paula followed up this song with Young Lovers. Paul (Ray) wrote Hey Paula but it was too long. He did some editing to shorten it. The parts he took out then became Young Lovers.
